Kostitsyn, more or less points than last year?

Rather simple question, Andrei has been injured this season and it slowed him down by quite a bit early on, he's now showing sparks of the goal scorer we hoped him to be. I ask you guys, will he score more or less points than he did last year?

2007-08: 26G-27A-53 pts- 78 Games Played

2008-09: 16G-12A-28 pts- 40 Games Played- 38 Games left

He will score more goals but he has not been making the plays he was making last year, I miss all those backhand, over the stick passes and tape to tape passes under players skates. He hasnt been as dominant this year, even though he's scoring goals at a crazy pace lately.

You could have put up the number of points he had for people to remember

26G 53 pts.

I think he'll get around that total, wishful thinking made me say he'll get more pts.

according to the "on pace for" thing on tsn.ca he's on pace to finish with 31 goals and 23 assists for 54 points so i guess he'll pass last years totals? seriously tho, i think he'll get more goals and less points overall

I could see him as Montreals top scoring winger this year. He has moved into 4th in team scoring only 5 points behind Kovalev while playing 4 less games with much less ice time and PP time.

If Carbo ever gives him the ice time and PP he deserves, he will rack up the points.

He'll lead the team in goals and broken sticks off one-timers.

its tough to say. He's on an absolute tear in the last few weeks. He cant keep up the production at this clip.

I'll say he ends up with about the same type of stats as last season, which is remarkable considering how sluggish he was out of the gates.

He doesn't play nearly enough minutes, I don't know why Carbonneau is so reluctant to use him.

You mean after his stellar camp, and after he was playing like a powerforward full of confidence then injured by Sauer he slumped trying to regain all that? Yup. But sluggish out of the gates, no.

The goal of Carbonneau's bench management is to ensure they are rested come playoff time.
Kovalev ranks 30th in the league but their next highest ranked player is Plekanec at 93rd.

I just hope when it is crunch time in the playoffs that he learns more from last year, trim the bench late in games and as often as possibly have a top player or line out after an opposition icing.

He should break 30 goals but have less assists. I'm thinking maybe 31-25-56, something like that if he doesn't stay out of the lineup for any extended period of time.

This.

Sergei also seemed like having troubles with a slump after seeing his bro get squished.

Both are back now though.

hard to say, he's playing the way he played in camp and it's not just 2 or 3 games, it's a good 11 games he's been playing like this.

That's possible if he starts passing the puck.

Reguardless of points I am just happy he is proving himself to be nhl calibre and not a fluke. He will only get better and his game will only get stronger/more refined.

I think he'll get around 30 points in the next 38 games if he plays them all and will finish with a few more points than last year.

Because Lapierre and Kostopoulos are better..duh!

I love those 2 and it's hard to make a case when they've been part of our best players these past few weeks, but it seem they're on the ice the most. I could still live with that, but the PP Ice Time they've been getting is ridiculous.

Some arguments on why Andrei Kostitsyn should never be on a line with Alex Kovalev:

He needs to play with players who can do the give and go like Lang and Sergei. Kovy is a power play demon but is too much of a puck hog. AKost-Lang_Skost seems ok by me if SKost is to remain up.
