Dogs vs. Admirals

vs

Catch the end here

Game started at 8:00 ET.

Down 3-1 in the 3rd to Milwaukee. 8:00 left.

Chris Higgins has the lone goal, unassisted at 10:07 of the 1st. I believe the goal gives Higgins 16 on the year, for 35 points and a +10.

Last game of a four game road trip.

We need better goaltending badly down there. Or is there a problem with our defense?

Somebody that got to see the recent Bulldogs games tell us!

Well goaltending has been suspect all year. Fichaud hasn't played half as well as last year, while Michaud stunk except for a few games. Damphousse's play has been consistent, nothing too great but not too bad either. So I would say they definitely have their best shot with JF in net, but I cant see them making it past the 2nd round with the combination of instability in net and on d.

The defence corps are slim, to say the least. Hopefully Vydareny comes in soon, as he sounds like a good pickup. JP Cote and Beauchemin are definitely the top two d-men in Hamilton, and the only really reliable guys. Traverse doesn't make a lot of errors, but you don't make a lot of errors when you don't try to hit anyone. He also thinks he's Bobby Orr once a game, trying to carry it through everyone, where its gets stripped away at centre. Hainsey has, sadly, gotten worse as the season
has gone on. His offensive play has been ok, although his shot could use some work. Multiple mental lapses have branded Hainsey the worst defensive d man on the team, maybe tied with Archer. Plante has been solid all year, nothing much to complain about. So D is somehwat suspect as well, but with Vydareny maybe the top 6 will look a little better.

Anyone know if Dykhuis will be sent down? He was pretty solid at this level, and he's not playing in MTL so he might as well head back to steel town.

Well Fichaud is done for the season from what I've heard, and doubtful for the playoffs. Damphousse will be the man, as Jarvis said he will go with Damphousse from here on in unless he feels he needs to make a change (maybe playing him in 3 straight games wasn't a good idea )

As for the Defense, I find Cote to be shaky at times but I like the kid a lot, he plays an aggressive game and seems to love to hit. Dykhuis I wonder if they send down when Souray comes back, or perhaps they consider sending down Komisarek. I know fans here will freak but it's an idea. I can't see Komo playing in the playoffs but that's just me. There's Matt Shasby who I think they should call up, let him get a taste of the AHL, but I guess that won't happen.
