If you got it on CBS Sportsline, I know theres a trick to modify the URL to get a higher resolution image. Not sure what it is though, I'll look for it.

Most impressive moment goes to Fedorov, who managed to get the puck to Semin while completely off balance. He was about to wipe out...veteran magic.

Islanders fan here. Interesting game last night. Happy to see us stay in it.... thought AO and Semin would have Danis looking silly. Thought the Witt call in OT was a little silly considering that kind of thing was going on all night, but anyhoooooo....

Speaking of Witt, does anyone here think the Caps might be interested in him to shore up the D for the playoffs???

If not Witt, how about Sutton, a guy you folks certainly saw a lot of in the SE division?

And if so, how valuable is Sami Lepisto in the eyes of the franchise? Could he be had?

Thanks in advance!

No way we want Witt back. In 2 games against us this year he was -5 in one, and then in the penalty box yesterday for both goals.

No way we want Sutton. He's a worthless piece of trash that has a lot of bad blood with guys on the team.

I think the Caps would trade for Witt before Sutton. Though I'd lean to no on both of them.

I don't think Lepisto has much of a future with the Caps as Boudreau doesn't seem to care for him at all. His mistakes get him sent back down fairly quickly while the likes of Sloan, Collins, and Helmer seem to get far more chances. I'm sure McPhee would want back the 3rd rounder that they used to pick him but I wouldn't doubt that if it was the Isles' pick he could be had for a 4th.

I like Lepisto a lot as a 3rd pairing guy / PP specialist and think he'll have a good NHL career but the Caps already have Green to run their PP and apparently Boudreau wants a different kind of player on his 3rd pairing. Lepisto's size and lack of strength will always work against him but there are worse blueliners than him playing regularly in the NHL today so whoever gets him will likely be very happy.

I think you could look at that the other way too. Those guys don't have much of a future in the NHL at all. So I don't think it matters to BB, McPhee or anyone else to have them play 10-12 minutes a night. Lepisto on the other hand needs to play and develop. So it may be the case that the Caps would rather have Lepisto play 20 min a night in Hershey than 10 a night in Washington.

I also don't think its good for the team to have both Lepisto and Alzner on their roster right now. Both need a veteran to play with until they get their feet wet. And although those 3 guys you metioned are not as talented, they do have more experience.

I don't think the Caps will give Lepisto away. I think next season Lepisto will get more of a chance to show what he can do. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Erksine and Lepisto to be the Caps 3rd pair coming out of camp next season.
