La Broquerie / Hockeyville 2009

Hey everyone,

A town called La Broquerie, in Manitoba that is located about an hour south of Winnipeg is running for the Krafts Hockeyville Contest. They are deciding the top 10 towns on January 14th on a one hour program that will be airing on CBC. We have been told that we are pretty much a guarantee for the top 10. Last Saturday, CBC came to our town for the day to film a few activities we had planned in the town that day. We are also celebrating our 60th year anniversary of hockey in our town. I just wanted to get our town known a bit everywhere so i am posting a video CBC took last Saturday that will be airing on the 14th during the top 10 show! We need everyones support! If you like what you see please vote!

Here is the video clip from youtube..

Yes which is why im posting it here, well that and i love the habs.

Another thing, its already been decided by our town comitee that if we do happen to win, we are picking the Habs to come here and play the exhibition game.

lol Yeah, i dont really wanna see the Coyotes, maybe the Bruins or the Leafs or something..

Our town are pretty much all Montreal fanatics..whoever wants to visit our official site, its www.habsworld.ca. My dad wrote and recorded a song called "This is Hockeytown" specifically for this event, you can download it off that website, whoever listens to it i would appreciate your feedback on it..I think we have a good chance at winning this,

Thanks! We have made alot of different news papers in the past week. We were even advertised so to speak by Alain Chantelois and Stephane Langdeau on "Le 4 a 7" on RIS.

We are very passionate about hockey here for our 50th year anniversary which was 10 years ago we flew in one of our hockey heroes, Mr. Jean Beliveau!

Hehe. One of my ex's is originally from there...

(Yes, I'm fully aware that this tidbit brings nothing to the thread, but whatever.)

EDIT: There was a guy in the video with a Riders jersey. Is that not outlawed in Manitoba?

No deal. Alberta is not represented this year.

I just have a question regarding this contest..like us here in La Broquerie have a pop. of around 800, and were up against a city (Terrace) that has a pop. of almost 13K..to determine the winner do they go strictly on votes? or do they take other things into consideration to determine the winner?
