And this is why we won't be going to the playoffs. This team is simply average.
bleah... in what statistical catagories are the Stars average exactly?
-bottom 5 in PP and PK
-bottom 5 in GA
-bottom 10 in GF
-worst goaltending in the league
I used to think that the Stars were unlucky and the injuries only compounded that, but no - they simply don't try hard enough to win on a consistent basis. You can play through injuries - teams like New Jersey and Washington have proven it.
Dallas is toast, this season and any other one they play like this. No team - no matter how talented - could make the playoffs with an effort like we've seen this season.
By working all night, you mean Richards to Eriksson, or Modano to Eriksson, or Eriksson to Richards, yes? We already know Eriksson has good chemistry with our centers. How many times did we see Modano leave a puck where he thought Richards would be trailing him? How many times did we see miscommunication and timing with their passes to eachother? They do not have a feel for eachother. Stacking our lines should show results (don't even bring up the Eriksson goal because that displayed nothing between Richards and Modano). Not to mention Modano has sucked lately, so Tippett basically destroyed two lines by plaguing Richards with Modano's sporadic laziness.
I'm done planning my days around to watch the Stars. Done. Show me a full 60 minute effort and I'll start to care.
