Good move, we might be be out with 5 d-men tonight and he is a puck moving one, oh and cheap, so worth a try, might boost our PP.

yes, it's good we picked up someone. we lose one more dman to injury, and we are in major trouble.

Good luck with him guys. He played well for a stint last year, but after injuring his shoulder and being out for 3 months, he hasn't been the same. He is a liability in the D zone and should only be used on the PP.

Yeah, he's been a totally different player since the injury. Seemed very timid whenever battling for the puck.

However, his recent stint with the Amerks proved to be promising.

Good luck.

Interesting.

Best case scenario, Murphy is reborn here in Tampa and really comes on strong for the rest of the season.

Worst case scenario, hes played a hand full of games then we send him back through waivers in hopes another team will claim him.

Likely case scenario...he plays alright before getting injured and is out 2-4 weeks or more lol

Sounds so and considering all the injuries we have it would be much needed.

Last time we picked up an offensive defenseman castoff from the Panthers it worked out pretty well

Anything to stop Koci from taking a regular shift as a defenseman and limit the minutes of Malik.

A+ on the lastname too.

We are desperate for defenseman so it makes sense. Hopefully when the other guys get healthy he and Malik will be playing musical chairs for who sits in the press box.

Good luck to him, I wish they would have just assigned him to Rochester as he's more suited for the game in AHL than the NHL. He's solid in the offensive zone and can QB the PowerPlay, but he's a huge liability in the defensive zone.

Best of luck to him there in Tampa.

He was down for a 2 week stint (conditioning) and had 6 points in 4 0r 5 games. Really nice guy, was hoping he would've worked out, but we've got Bouw, McCabe, and Ballard for right now and Smurph is off the books after this season.

If you think he's a nice guy then why would you wish for him to buried on a crappy AHL team than get another shot elsewhere?

...because as I said, he's more suited for that game. Nice guy's great, doesn't mean he's able to play at this level. I hope he makes an impact and is able to stay at this level.

Looks like he has a pretty mean shot. OT winner at the 1:55 mark. Plus, he's rockin' the famous chrome-gold helmet.

Great shot from the point which obviously greatly helps his ability to QB the powerplay. He was good in his first 7 games, but once he went down with injury (mystery shoulder two years in a row), he wasn't the same. Didn't show much this season, perhaps he'll fit in better with Tocchet's season. I'll be keeping a close eye on him.
