Hockey injury

I play on a coed ball hockey team and the wife took a shot full in the mouth, any suggestions to keep the swelling down to a minimum? Ice is a no brainer any special steps so it dosn't look like I beat her when she goes into work?

Like you said, ice. In general to keep swelling down use rest, ice, compression, and elevation, but obviously the mouth is a bit different than an ankle or knee. Maybe sleep with a few pillows so her head is a little elevated, but I'm not sure how much that will do.

You could try some ibuprofen (I have no idea if I spelled that correctly) I believe that reduces swelling?

That is just a pain reliever.

You could always go with the old Meat-to-Mouth (pun intended.) Use a steak or any cold meat, just don't swallow any of the juices haha.
