1. Detroit Red Wings 7-2-1-0
2. Tampa Bay Lightning 8-0-0-2
3. San Jose Sharks 6-3-0-1
4. Ottawa Senators 4-3-2-1
5. Philadelphia Flyers 4-4-1-1 They haven't been playing the best hockey over the past little while.. but they still deserve this spot for the way they've been playing all season.
6. Vancouver Canucks 5-3-1-1
7. Boston Bruins 4-2-3-1
8. Toronto Maple Leafs 5-5-0-0 Brian Leetch gives them an edge
9. Dallas Stars 8-1-1-0
10.Montreal Canadiens 8-2-0-0

So Dallas isn't top of this list why? As far as I can tell..... the 8-1-1 is the best record over that past 2 weeks.

How is SJ so far ahead of Dallas? Didn't Dallas just beat the living stuffing out of SJ yesterday? Dallas is the better team right now, and I thought that was kinda the point of these rankings.

You're right. I hate points for an OTL.

OKay, so still, Dallas should be second, not 9th.

Based on a weekly base, easily. Based on the entire season, 9th is right on. But if we were to rank the most dangerous playoff teams, Dallas would make my top 5.

That and the fact that they are still 2nd seed considering the rash of injuries they've suffered all season long.

Roenick
Primeau
Desjardins
Seidenberg
Ragnarrson
Therien
Pitkanen
Hackett

All out..

The whole point of a power index is who is best right now.

We have something called "standings" that is used to determine the best team over the entire season.
