In addition to all the centennial celebrations that are great for the team and the city, I'm very pleased to see how the Habs are becoming even more involved in developing sport and recreation in Montreal. The new Brossard complex is obviously 1st intended as a full facility for the Habs, but it was also built with the greater community in mind (ie. the beautiful indoor soccer facility the building houses).
In that same spirit, Habs are footing most of the bill for the construction of 5 high-tech outdoor hockey rinks in disadvantaged Montreal neighborhoods (1 rink per year for 5 years). This is great stuff-- that's true care and class. I hope we see more of the sort in the future-- it's a great way to make the Montreal Canadiens a deeper part of the fabric of our society (if that's even possible
