Meh, it happens. But I'm glad we didn't score a meaningless goal at the end so Price isn't on the hook for Halak's **** ups like last time.

Hopefully this means a better effort tomorrow.

Pacioretty still looks awesome out there.

Oh and worst game Hamrlik has played all year. Gorges wasn't much better.

- halak with 2 bad goals to start
- team was asleep for the first 15 mins
- plek back to his version of playoff hockey
- not enough hitting the net
- tough game for the lapierre line
- good game for the 4th line
- gutsy performance by patch
- sergei/andrei/lang took a night off

Not sure why some here feel the need to throw the whole team under the bus. They got 36 shots and a lot of them quality ones, it's hard to win when your goalies give up 3 weak goals. Even against weak teams, you need NHL goaltending. Price can be excused, he's been out for a month and he misplayed that pass by Bagosian, but the 2 1st period goals on Halak were brutal.

It didn't help that the reffing was not calling the mugging in the Trasher zone, one missed call, the hand player gets tackled 15 feet from the puck and no call, Plekanec gets mugged in the slot and no call.

How can you go from being so good to so average? What did Plekanec smoke?

He needs to go to the net instead of always circling in the perimiter. Even Brunet noticed it on one rush. Go to the F#$%ing net and maybe you'll score. S.Kostystyn needs to start doing that too.

How did A.Kost have a bad game? He created a graet chance(Lehtonen made a great save) and drew a penality. He was at least as good as Pacioretty(wow he actually threw a few hits!!!), if not better.

Halak has all but ruined his trade value. What a horrid stretch of hockey by him.

On a positive note, Max Pac was great.

Plekanec was beyond bad. He gets 2 against the Caps, you think he's back, then the trade rumors come and he's back to being basically worthless.
And when you factor in how we've blown 5 pts. to Carolina (behind us in the race), we've been pretty unsatisfactory against the weaker teams. Luckily we have games in hand on most everybody but we'll need to finish 25+ games over .500 (meaning at least 10 games over .500 in our last 37, doesn't sound hard since we were better than 10 games over by the 37 game mark this year but the games get harder)if we want to be damn near guaranteed 4th place. And it would take probably a torrid finish to surpass Boston the way they're going. So fuh-ged-aboudit!

Yea I agree with you...but to be honest I just copy Harry's list and I changed two things...in fact I just wanted to add that Max Pac was amazing.

Koivu will do that for us. I almost dread all the others returns because none were particularly convincing in the lineup before then. Almost all showed less heart than the guys from the AHL who replaced them. I agree that Pleks needs a benching some time soon and Kovy doesn't show up nearly as often as we need him to. He hasn't been a gamebreaker this year at all.

I could care less about catching the Bruins..They will finish first and be favored to come out of the East so there will be more pressure on them.A Bruins/Penguins first round matchup would be really good and very interesting but I expect the Pens to improve their place in the standings before the season ends unfortunately....

The Habs played terrible tonight and lost a game we expected them to win but they might surprise us in NJ and win a game that most of us expect them to lose...It's a long season and games like tonight happens from time to time...Credit to Atlanta for taking it to the Habs tonight and a well earned 2 points....

I didn't find the effort was that bad...seriously, some people just like giving everybody credit on wins and crapping on nearly everybody during losses.

It's hard to win against ANY NHL team when your goalie gives up 2 cookies the first 10 minutes...then you get back in the game and your other goalie(though he hasn't played in a month) gives up another.

Seriously folks...give your head a shake...no NHL team is consistently 3 goals better than any other NHL team on the road to the point when you can spot the, 2-3 goals and still win.

My point is not to throw Halak under the bus...but in the NHL you don't win many games with subpar goaltending.
