All things considered I'd rather have Billy in charge. Could you imagine his press conferences?

Reporter: So President Davidge, it appears North Korea is increasing their nuclear arsenal...

Prez Billy: Oh you better believe it. And as I say, that's a rogue dictator's dictating! We gotta just let the diplomacy do the work and hey! The US'll get right back to this one. And that's as good as it gets!

This would never work
As has been pointed out many times before, if you watch the tv broadcast while listening to George, it's obvious he's watching some other game ...and usually one which we are always winning.

I heard him say last night that Boll's wrist shot was as good as anyones. I had to shake my head for a second and say "did I just hear him say Boll's wrist shot was as good as anyones" Talk about lipstick on pig!

I'll confirm that Davidge said that last night. I thought, "Holy crap, he's on a roll".
Then he talked about how you've got to maximize your time when you've been relegated to that fourth line. (Presumably, even if your wrist shot is Yzerman-esque)

True

I also imagine him not being able to just stand still there at the podium; he'd have to be holding the mic and flailing his hands around or something

I think I may have figured out what is going on at FSO. They are getting us used to listening to the same thing over and over and then they will fire Rims and Bill D and replace them with computer generated play by play based on technology from NHL 2K.

Anyone else catch the banner advertisement they just threw up next to the scoreboard for LAST NIGHT'S GAME?

Since I am on vacation and don't know what day it was, I was very confused for a few moments there.

In the Dispatch chat, yesterday, Porty speculated (perhaps jokingly?) that Rimer may be feeding x-GMDM info from the locker room and around the rink. I'm not a big fan of either of them, but that would really tick me off!

By the way, AP also said that Nash can barely stand Dougie. Good, glad to hear it!

I was thinking it could be either Rimer, Davidge, or Matthews feeding MacLean on that info. Rimer's connection to MacLean goes back to Florida. Davidge has known MacLean since their time in Detroit in the early 1990's. Matthews is from the same town that MacLean is on P.E.I.

It is interesting that Portzline mentioned only Rimer. I have heard Rimer is not too popular with some of his colleagues in the media. Portzline knows darn well that Davidge and Matthews have longtime connections to MacLean. There are probably many others in the organization that stay in contact with MacLean. I've heard people call them the P.E.I. Mafia. Just go through the bios on the CBJ website and you see quite a few MacLean connections.

One of the big mistakes of the H&H show has been the failure to completely rid the Blue Jackets organization of the P.E.I. Mafia.

Not sure if anyone saw the pre-game, but that text poll they had around look-alikes, was the most amateur thing I've seen them do. It was worse than Community Access.

On the outro ditty when they go to a commercial, what's that "whip" sound supposed to be? It goes bum bum bum bum (whip!)... bummmm. I always hear it for some reason and wonder what it is...

Their cameras don't have power buttons. They just whip the cords out and plug them back in after the commercial break.

Agreed. It was so stupid. On top of everything else wrong with that segment, none of the players even looked liked the celebs they were matched up with.

That's BS.

Any monkey can figure out that some of the players aren't happy.

Flash: I hear some of the fans aren't happy either.

My impression was that X-GMDM implied that he had a source inside the room and Porty speculated (as I said, perhaps facetiously) it was Rims.

On topic: a team of monkeys running the booth for FSN? Explains quite a bit!

Playing along....
Would Rims be considered "inside the room"??

He is certainly "a source close to the team."

I can't remember where I posted it, but after the new TV pairing was announced, I remember predicting that before too long, most of us on HF would be whining about Bill Davidge.

Am I a psychic?

Returning serve....

I'm not sure what exact term was used , nor if AP was being serious. Personally, I don't think Doug would need a credible source to say whatever came to mind. Makes him perfect for talk radio.
