I am really looking forward to this game. I just HOPE we can have something positive going into the break.!

I really wanna see Bouwmeester play. I have wondered if the Stars might try to get him in the offseason and would like to know if he is worth the crazy $$ he would probably get.

Little shorter game thread today (team stats and last game taken out). They'll return against Atlanta.

I'm disappointed in the Panthers, usually they have at least 2 or 3 players I've never heard of.

True Story: Their official site's video highlight page is called GrowlTV.

And no Stars fan would blame you on our end.

When scoring a PP goal: 13-5-4 | When not scoring a PP goal: 6-12-3
Not allowing a PP goal: 8-4-2 | Allowing a PP goal: 11-14-5

That stood out to me, I said it in the other thread but with the numbers in front of me these special teams stats are keeping us from winning more than 2 games in a row.

Wouldn't it be funny if the Stars had a 3-0 lead in the 2nd period, then would proceed to allow the opposing team to tie it up in regulation and then win the shootout? What a ridiculous situation that would be!!

McCabe is an interesting case. The guy got pretty much run out of Toronto, but he's putting up a very solid season for the Panthers. 20 points, plays over 23 minutes a game, only gives up 2.09 ES GA/60 (this would lead the Stars by a decent amount) ... not bad.

Out of the overpaid 30 something D from Canadian teams, looks like McCabe was the keeper over Redden.

One more tidbit: Bouwmeester plays over twice the amount that Hutchinson does. 27:26 to 13:09!

If we give points to Eastern Conference teams I'm not as upset. It's when we give points to Western Conference teams that it hurts a lot more. So if this does happen and we do end up winning in the shootout, two points is two points.

Actually the more points we give to bottom feeders, Florida isn't one, the better. That is assuming we miss the playoffs. Those two points to Tampa may be crucial come draft day.

I wouldn't worry about being anywhere near the Top 5. The Islanders, Thrashers, Lightning and Blues look like they want to tank pretty hard too.

I have a feeling the Stars' play a solid all around game tonight and come out with a 3-2 SO win.

I haven't given up completly on the team, but the sky is starting to get pretty dark

I wonder what lead is big enough when going to the 3rd period. 4 goals?

LA scored 5 on us last season, in the last 9 minutes of a game.

I'm sure these Stars are willing to top that by allowing 6 or 7.
