Horrible, horrible coverage.... annoying analysts, boring personalities and little useful insight.
Sam is far past his prime.

It seems that he just can't keep up with the play.
At times he sounds so confused, like he doesn't even know where he is.

I have a few gripes with MSG.

1) Dolan's an ass and refused to provide Verizon FiOS with MSG HD because it is a competitor of Cablevision, so those who have FiOS and an HD tv are forced to watch regular MSG and it looks absolutely dreadful.

2) MSG2 is painful to watch and listen to, horrible picture and loud, unclear audio.

3) Joe Michelletti repeats everything he says at least 3 times per game and can be a bit homer-ish at times. And he always ends his sentences in a question ("Paul Mara's had a strong game tonight, hasn't he, Sam?" "Wow, that was a great play by Staal, wasn't it, Sam?"). I wish Sam would respond with "JD was a much better analyst than you, wasn't he, Joe?"

This is the one reason why I haven't switched to FiOS yet.

JD was the best. Sam and JD worked great as a team. Sam and Joe are missing something they just don't click.

And JD has some smokin hot daughters...

The audio on MSG is terrible. Always lower than any other hockey network.

I miss JD so much. I know he was around one season with Lundqvist, but I would love to hear what he thinks of Hank now. I actually think MSG gives pretty decent coverage of hockey. However, if the Knicks get Lebron James in a few years, that network will be completely dedicated to basketball.

And this is why i ****ing hate dolan. Its absolutely ridiculous. I have been a season ticket holder for years now and am a diehard rangers fan and can't even watch the games in HD. If cable didnt SUCK BALLS i would have it. But i cannot stand it and it is an absolute ripoff.

I just can't take Sam's toupe/combover anymore. It is getting worse by the day. Sam, just face up to your baldness and lets move on together.

and the camera guy is always behind the action. i think watching the rangers on msg has to be the only thing i can watch on tv that could lead to a sore neck. Is a good prospect update once in awhile asking too much from the pre-game?

He's unbearable.

Someone will toss a soft routine wrist shot right into Lundqvist's logo and Rosen will say, "an UH-MAY-ZING SAYVE LUND-QVIST", and the viewer is just sitting there scratching his head thinking......no it wasnt.... it was a 28 mph wrist shot just intended to create a faceoff.

Drives me nuts.

Doc and Chico are about the same for Brodeur/whatever goalie in a Devils uniform and I don't think either are going senile yet.

Though I do admit that he's lost a step, for sure. But with that said, he's still better than 90% of the PBP guys in the league.

I'd say the Debbie duo is far more guilty of that...

Rosen is far, far from unbearable, sure he's lost a step, but he's old and has been doing this for a long time now.

I'd like to ask the Joe haters out there who they'd rather have that was available at the time or now to replace JD. We all love JD, but he left. Joe is very good and better than MOST other color guys in the league.

Since the Isles and Debbies are on MSG now, I'll comment. Doc is good, Cicho's a flamboyant homer (someone cue the clip of game 5 last yr) but he's entertaining. Howie's great and Jaffe is also good, either I've warmed up to him or he's gotten better since he started there.

PS: THe guys in LA are the best in the league imo. TSN guys are good too, I don't like CBC. Before Boston got Edwards, (they had a different play by play man) they were good as well, with Edwards they're alright. HM: Ducks and Stars
