One of Johnson or Hickey, a top 6 forward and first round pick at the very least.

Not a bad proposal. I doubt Heatley will be dealt but the value is there.

sounds good, but would a good prospect and an 2010 first be good instead?
It would depend on who they want, JMFJ or Hickey

uuhmmm JJ is going nowhere he is a coreplayer for Lombardi and he said a lot times he will see him as a franchise defenseman in L.A.

For me, they can keep Heatley because the price is simply to high.
Our youth core is here and we can add a Star UFA if we need one for free.
It's not needed to give another Team the future back.

Assets you probably don't want to give up.

Hickey, Frolov and Teubert aren't of much interest to me.

He'll cost a young team a lot. If LA could get him without giving up a roster player, they should do it. 50 goal guys don't come around much anymore.

I could see why the Kings would want to add a player of Heatley's caliber. He could be what puts them on top of the massive dogpile that is the bottom half of the West, although there are several clubs ahead of them.

I would say O'Sullivan, a young defenseman (the Sens would pus hard for Hickey), and a first round pick. That should be sufficient value for Heatley, and it gives the Senators a lot of what they want while keeping the Kings' core largely intact. At the same time, though, Heatley does have an NTC, but with the LA lifestyle plus moving to a team on the upswing and looking to make a run at the playoffs this year, there could be reason enough for him to waive it.

So an established top 6 winger whos responible in all 3 zones and cheap, a puck moving defenseman and a shutdown defenseman wouldnt interest the Senators?

Id rather see the Kings keep players like that then gut the core of their team and take a step backwards out of this rebuild.

The Sens wouldn't be interested in a shutdown defensemen at all. They already have Volchenkov. The deal would have to include a young, puck moving defensemen.

Which Hickey is. Tuebert would be for down the line.

I like the idea of

O'Sullivan, Hickey, Preising, and 2nd

That would give LA

Purcell-Kopitar-HEATLEY
Frolov-Moller-Brown
Simmonds-Handzus-calder
Zeiler-Armstrong-Ivannans

Doughty-Quincey
Johnson-Greene
O'Donnell-Harrold

Quick/Ersberg

makes us Kingsfans happy campers

My point was that the Sens definitely need a puck mover. Hickey or Johnson fits the bill more then Teubert does.

Value-wise some of these proposals are good. However, it doesn't make sense for them to try and add Heatley. I'd rather have the three players that LA would give up than Heatley, personally.

I think Murray would want Johnson in any package plus a top-6 forward and the Kings' 2009 1st-round pick. Essentially, a team would have to give up a lot to pry Heatley away.

Yeah, exactly. You're not going to get another team's top assets without giving up some of your own. That's why it doesn't really make sense for the Kings to do a three-player downgrade for Heatley.
