Callup Plus/Minus

Out of all of our callups only one has a Plus/Minus that is a plus.
Greg Stewart Plus 1
Yannick Weber even
Ben Maxwell Minus 1
Kyle Chipchura Minus 3
Max Pac minus 5
Dags minus 6

Max Pac is also one of only two players in Hamilton that is a minus, its great to have an offensive player but when does there defense become too much of a liability?

maxpac plays with Kovalev. Not exactly a defensive specialist.

Max pac need more work in the AHL.
But he should have a big role on our team next year.

D'agostini need to stay so we can fully evaluate him !

If Pacioretty, D'Agostini and/or Stewart stay in the lineup when Higgins and Tanguay get back, and with Price in nets, it will be easier to evaluate them in a role more appropriate to their experience throughout the rest of the season.

I dissagree about MaxPac. Although more "work" in the AHL won't hurt him, I think he's fully ready to play steady in the NHL. The only problem about his game is adjusting to the NHL speed and a bit of positioning. You can't work on these in the AHL. If I could keep only one of the callups it would be him.

I think Maxwell's liability was a bit blown out of proportion. Not only looking at +/-, but I rarely noticed him making a bad play in his own end that led to a goal or anything. It's not like his line scored a big bunch of goal and still he found a way to almost stay even. The difference here was the nice pass that sergei made to an opposite player in the slot i guess. Cant blame that on maxwell.

I think D'Agostini is the most ready of the bunch tho. Alot of his minus came from playing with grinder in a role he isnt as suited for. I think right now he's the one that can shine the most if he plays with some offensive players.

Kovalev is not there to be a defensive specialist.

Pacioretty needs a lot of work defensively.

I think if they keep him here it will limit his upside. He needs to develop into a dominant AHL player before jum, ping to the NHL.

D'Agostini looks ordinary at best playing on the fourth line with the likes of Begin and Stewart.
D'Agostini looks like an offensive creative force playing on a line with Saku Koivu.

A MaxPac-Koivu-D'Ago line would be interesting...
