I am surprised no one has mentioned LA yet, I am impressed. Perhaps people are actually paying attention to west coast hockey this year.
Personally, I don't see him getting claimed. I think he will pass through. I can't think of very many teams that have the need or capspace for such a player. The only possibility is a contender looking for a veteran backup for the postseason but I don't see any takers in that department.

Yea because Joey MacDonald is hurt as well. I watched the Islander game last night and that was easily his best game holding the Ducks to one flukey goal on a ton of chances.
Danis was out of position left and right in that game. There was one powerplay I couldn't believe the Ducks didn't score. They got it to the slot and whoever it was had a wide open net. He shot it into Danis and it STILL went through his legs, but it hit the post and bounced back into him. There were several other chances where I couldn't believe the Ducks inability to score. Danis didn't have a great game, he got pretty lucky and came away with a win for once.
Pretty clear the Islanders don't really care anymore. I wonder how long Doug Weight and Billy Guerin are there before they get traded. It's gonna be a yardsale on that team, all vets must go.
Senators assistant general manager Tim Murray stated that the Sens would sit down with Gerber and discuss his situation if he cleared waivers without being claimed by another team. There has been speculation that the team would attempt to loan Gerber to a European team in order to alleviate his salary cap hit.

That would be the logical thing for the sens to do.
That depends.Binghamton is off to the best first half they've had and with Elliot up in Ottawa their playoff chance are D.O.A without a capable starter. So we'll have to see if Melnyk values having the kids in a winning or at least competitive environment.
