Oh wow, I just googled him and read about it.

I guess scratch him off the list, good to see that he still has a bright outlook, wish him all the best.

Why is Jeff Carter out? Is he sick? flu? injury?

He left practice and Briere has replaced him on the 2nd line.

Does anyone have an update?

Yeah I just read about that. It's a little worrisome that a guy who can mold an average team into a competitor might be arriving in our division.

Wait... what are the lines? According to Tim P:
Quote:
Danny Briere replaced him (Carter) on that refurbished line of S. Hartnell and S. Upshall.
So that means the 3rd line is Powe-Giroux-Lupul?

I would think so. You think this could give clues on who might be moving? (not to overreact to it...but, food for thought)

well with 3 games in 4 nights this week its probably best to have Briere play on Friday. 3 games in 4 nights right out of the shoot probably would be pushing it a little bit right off the bat. Play him Friday and let him get going then.

SI.com on Briere's return...

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...urn/index.html
Quote:

VOORHEES, N.J. (AP) -- The Flyers are closer to adding that impact player that so many teams look for around the trade deadline. They won't even have to discuss deals or go outside the locker room to find a former All-Star.

Danny Briere is feeling stronger, fresher and more confident that he can finally return to the lineup this week after missing 33 games with groin injuries. Briere had set Wednesday as his target date, but the star center now expects to play in Philadelphia's game against Montreal on Friday night.

interesting to see what moves on the team will be made to fit him back in and if he is 100% better this time. it will be exciting to see how Montreal handles three scary lines.

So I really haven't been keeping up to date with this whole situation other than the fact that he might be coming back soon. I'm really digging our 3rd line right now and Metro is doing a spectacular job of late centering our 4th. Will the lines be affected severely when Danny returns?

yea ill be at the game in a sky box! Got to think that Briere will be getting limited minutes for the first few games but when we run off three lines filled with all stars no one can check all of them.

With all our offense i kind of wish we hired Torts and put in his "safe is death" theme that won Tampa the cup.

The Flyers... with a THEME?!?! Ahh helll noooo.... The only thing theme we have is giving up over 40 shots on net, and "Baking Time with John Stevens", which I have to say, this year he is late with..
