At the moment its between Staal or Kesler. I don't care what stats you use, you have to watch players to determine how good defensively they are. Everyone knows NJ forwards are above average to excellent defensivly in general. Zajac is the first devil player in takeaways in 77th place. Tell me that makes sense, different arenas count different stats.
Im sure he has a higher number of giveaways/minute than most players, but even Bob MacKenzie said the giveaways stat very subjective as you obviously cough up the puck more when you play 20+ min/game.
I watch basically every game, trust what I'm saying. he gives up an UNREASONABLE amount of pucks based on being a defensively responsible forward based on ice time, we're not just talking about coughing up the puck in normal circumstances of play, I'm talking about mistakes.
