The only reason I wouldn't do the deal is Pitkanen. He's an excellent, young, talented defensmen who could be with this team for years. If it was just Gagne and a 1st, I'd do that deal in a heartbeat.

Chris Pronger is not available for trade, the Blues have said it countless times. Yet these lameass trade rumor sites keep putting up these rumors with "unideinfied sources" have stated that Pronger is available. He isnt available i dont care what anyone says. This thread is so ridiculous they should end it right now.

Although both players are very good,I don't think Clarke will want to surrender Gagne/Sharp,with Pitkanen and picks for those two players. They are older, have large contracts, and Clarke would rather add players like another Zhamnov for a lesser price. I'd rather see Satan aquirred, for Somik and a draft pick.

The Flyers have more than enough to get Pronger w/o moving Pitkanen. They are one of the few teams who can afford to give up enough talent and pay Pronger to complete a trade.

He spreads more untruths than a bunch of old ladies in a hair salon. Always take what he says with a grain of salt.

Proposal: Radivojevic to NYR for Devries. Then Handzus, DeVries, Johnsson, pick for Pronger.

Pronger's a great player, definitely in the league's top two defensemen. That said, he's not worth four NHL-calibre players and a pick. He's led his team past the second round one time and never to the finals. More often than not, the Blues have been one and done. Now, add in his his recent injury history and a $10 million contract that will make it awfully difficult for the Flyers to keep any of their FAs, particularly if a cap or luxury tax takes effect. Think Herschel Walker.

I was thinking it was comparable to what we gave up for the rights to Lindros, actually. (Without the cash)

Far too much for one player, no matter how good the player is.

They'd have Desjardins, Markov, Pronger, Malakhov, Ragnarsson, Pitkanen, Timmander, Seidenberg for the playoffs. So they'd only need to replace Handzus.

Gagne-Zhamnov-Amonte
LeClair-Roenick-Recchi
Kapanen-Primeau-Brashear
Fedoruk/Somik-LaPointe-Sharp

My guess is if they pulled off a trade like that they'd also pickup Mellanby or trade for somebody like Satan.

spectors isn't made up crap.... He does get his stuff from legit media sources and then comments on it. I don't always agree with a lot of his comments, but it is good to see what media in other cities are thinking, you never know if they might be right.

True. Spector's doesn't make up the stuff. He is an aggregator of media rumors, most of which never come to fruition.

So Jagr goes for Carter who goes for Aulin...
and now Pronger goes for Pitkanen, 1st and Gagne... what a joke.

One year ago, nobody knew if Pronger would ever return to hockey.

With his injury history and high salary he won't to be fecthing a fantasy league price tag. Also with a cap coming in, this kind of deal would cripple the Flyers. Pronger, JR, Leclair, Desjardins, Primeau (assuming he got signed)... how else could they keep the rest of the team under the cap?

Pronger is nice, but i can't see the Flyers getting him in an uncertain CBA environment.
