Dammit. Kind of difficult to build up a farm system when the prospects won't even sign with Tampa. Dammit.

I don't think a guy with his skill would have been interested to play in a league worse than his home league and with worse pay, so I don't think it affects the farm team in any way.

he would've gotten a shot in the big league, all he would've had to do is show the team that he belonged here...but when you're chasing money, it kind of clouds your judgment. maybe he'll change his mind when he realizes the russian league is not all it's cracked up to be...

awful news. I was really looking forward to him coming over. I guess the nice amount of cash (more than any nhl team would probably be willing to give) and the chance to continue to play with his bff were incentive enough to play in the KHL. I still hope that he changes his mind in the future after playing a little in the KHL. Boy Im depressed now

Harju signed a one year deal for about 1.2 million dollars with Dynamo Moskva

I feel for you, the Oilers just lost Omark's rights as well...

Dunno if you guys have followed the rather intense discussion over on the oilers board regarding Omark but if you have, there's an interesting quote from Omark that talked about how Tampa had handled the Harju situation. The GM had personally phoned Harju and told him how sorry he was that Johan wasn't coming over this year but he wished him all the best and hoped to see him next year. Omark contrasted that by how Oilers had handled him. What do you guys think of the possibility, if relations between Omark and the Oilers continue to be frosty, of prying Omark from the Oilers and bringing both guys over next year and letting them play together? Could be a big selling argument for them (and wouldn't be bad for Tampa either judging by the way they're tearing it up together at the moment). Especially if you guys get a certain high pick also hailing from Sweden

There's barely been a response from the Oilers management thus far, but from what they have said, their side of the story is a lot rosier than what Omark is depicting.

Maybe Omark can be a throw in if the Oilers decide to make a play for Lecavalier.

Nice to see Lawton show some class though.

good to know they didn't completely scare him off. They aren't exactly geniuses when it comes to these kind of things.
