We all knew it was only a matter of time. I wonder what is coming the other way.

The draft pick is the compensatory pick for Hatcher signing with the Red Wings

We were just talking about that in the Trade Chat.....
that should end up being a 2nd rounder or something

If Bure doesnt play with more Balls than he did last year when the Blues aquired him for the playoffs, you will soon hate the move.

If he plays totally on the perimiter like he did for the Blues he will add absolutely nothing. Lots of luck with him.

Actually, he's a RFA, but at $3.1 million a season, it isn't likely he will be tendered a qualifying offer. So, he's not technically a UFA, but he's close.

Any more details on the value of the pick? Is it a second?

Good for Florida

At last years deadline, Florida traded Valeri Bure to the Blues for Mike VanRyn and then picked him up off waivers during the summer.....now they trade him for a prospect and a pick after they get what they wanted from him (20 goals, 25 assists) during the regular season and they arent making the playoffs so no use keeping him.

I would not be surprised if he signs with florida AGAIN over the summer, just to be traded at the deadline to a contender...

So the Panthers have actually picked up VanRyn, and the prospect + pick from dallas for nothing essentially.

An over-the-hill Corson? A mistake-proned Therien? A forward who lacks guts in Bure? I am seriously doubting Armstrong. The Stars did have a good team on paper before these moves but... I think that the GM just made three consecutive mistakes. These guys won't be putting Dallas over the contenders (Col, Det, Vcr).

V. Bure is one of the last players I would want on my team. Among the most inconsistent, injury-prone, overpaid perimeter players in this league. Stars are obviously trying to catch lightning in a bottle, but so too was St. Louis last March. Good luck.

Just my opinion.

Couldnt agree more, the Blues failed miserably in their attempt to catch lightning in a bottle and if I was a betting man the Stars will fail also. You cant teach Bure to have Heart.

This is honestly beautiful

I think its a good move by Dallas they could use a little flash Bure is a game breaker when he is on good trade in my opinion.

Just going on his brief stint with te Blues the only way he was a game breaker was that he killed us by being absolutely useless.
