Which name was the best?

Before you think I am talking about a specific Flyers players name, think again.

Which of the names was the best for the now Wachovia Center.

I have to say it was the First Union Center because that is what I grew up with. I researched a little bit and didn't even realize that there was a different name before that. I first went to the First Union Center in 1998 to a Flyers Stars game and I always loved the sound of First Union Center as compared to Wachovia for some reason. I just think it fit better.

What was the bank called before first union? Was it first nation? There was one on my corner, but it was so long ago I can't remember for sure.

Having a building called the FU Center was just perfect for a Philly team, especially the Flyers.

You guys will believe this as much as I did. But two years ago I had an English teacher and he told us a story of his football coach in highschool. First day of practice he told all of them to get on one knee. When everyone got settled he started like this,

"Hello boys, I will be your coach. Coach Wacker, Dick Wacker."

Now obviously his name was Richard, but why the hell would you call yourself Dick Wacker.

That is officially the greatest name EVER.

When I went to high school, there was a science teacher named Peter Woodcock. I'd shoot myself if I was a guy and had that for a name.
