Frolov vs. Hemsky

Yes it's another one of those boring player vs. player polls, but I had to ask this one. I'm sure this poll was probably asked already at some point this season, but I don't frequent this particular board too often so I did not see one on any of the last few pages.

Which of these two young stars-to-be do you think is/will be better? I see them both as slightly different players - Hemsky is more of a playmaker, and Frolov more of a goal scorer - but both definitely are bright young stars. Which player do you think will develop into the better player?

I'm not voting because I'm a Kings fan, but I can tell you this much, MacTavish should be fired for his "talent" management this year.

Wow, I know it's early on in the poll still, but I would have thought it would be closer. I didn't vote in it myself, but I was actually leaning towards Hemsky . . . I see him as a point per game player, but I don't really think Frolov can get there (maybe somewhere in the 60 point range).

until MacT realizes that Hemsky should not be playing on the checking line, I'd have to say Frolov.

I'm on the WC so I catch a lot of Oilers games. Besides they are a pretty fun team to watch.

He's done a decent job with Pisani and Bishai because those guys are closer to what MacT was as a player, but he just doesn't understand how to coach guys with talent. He hasn't even handled Torres right IMO. After a hot two months, he then cut his minutes for most of December. What happens? He doesn't produce.
It's the exact same thing with Hemsky! Give those to minutes and they will produce

Worst line combination in the NHL, Oates, Hemsky, and Moreau. Neither Oates or Hemsky shoot the puck and Moreau is a grinder. Mac T should be fired.

A-Fro is strong on his feet, has good hands, good size, good defensively, powerful, good attitude. Prototype new-era forward. Give him the edge.

What talent management? His ideal team would be a line-up of his former self x 22.

He'll make a plugger out of Hemsky yet!

[The difference between these 2 comes down to what sort of player would you prefer in the future? Frolov having the ceiling of a Fedorov-type powerforward, or Hemsky, the playmaking Hejduk. Although I believe it will be easier for Ales to achieve his ceiling rather than Alex.]

I'm a BIG Hemsky homer...but here's what I think.

Right now, I'd take Frolov easily. In the future, I think Hemsky has the goods to become a better offensive player then Frolov by a wide margin, but Hemsky will be nowhere near as good of a two way player that Frolov is. If both players hit their ceilings, I'd pick Hemsky....but I think Frolov has a better chance at reaching his potential... The only way I see Hemsky hitting his potential is if he is traded to another team because MacT is a moron.

I think the Hemsky situation is going to turn into what happened with Miroslav Satan...a good offensive player who is having some trouble in his own zone gets traded then blossoms into an awesome player. I hope that doesn't happen with Hemsky....

Last year i did say I would trade Frolov for Hemsky but this year it seems like Hemsky hasn't shown too much imporvement while Frolov is twice the player he was last season.

Would the fact Frolov is a full year older than Hemsky, is playing on a team decimated by injuries therefore given much more opportunities while Hemsky plays on a team with a ridiculous amount of 2nd and third liners, no set line-combinations or coaching system, mixed in with the fact his coach values a players grittyness and plugging ability above all else (including natural talent)..... have anything to do with it?
