Stoked isn't quite the word I use when we play the best team in the league with Raycroft in net for us, but hey, to each there own.

1-27-09 Sharks at Avs 7 PM MT

After Budaj's egg against the Kings, Raycroft gets the call between the pipes.

The return of the Claude (who will probably score a hatty)

The Avs only seem to play well against good teams, but for some morbid reasons, I want the Avs to get run big time...just to show them that their decision to not even interview McClellan is going to bite them in the keester. (Not that they will pay attention to that)

Lappy and Jones should/could be back in the lineup tonight.

I'm excited about it!

But then again, I get excited about root canals.

Oh the carnage. A Bloodbath.

The Avs don't even have a chance.

When do you think Raycroft gets replaced by Budaj? First or second period?

Will it make a difference if he's replaced in the third period?

The fact that we aren't good enough to make the playoffs and aren't bad enough for a top-2 pick will eat us alive!!!

Here's hoping Pepe does us AVs fan one last favor and takes a run at Tyler and Clark.

Ok...I'm not actually hoping for them to be injured...but...

It sure is gonna be nice to see Pepe play. I'm very glad he made it back to the NHL.

How cool of a story would it be if he and JR play awesome hockey together throughout the playoffs. Jody Shelley-Jeremy Roenick-Claude Lemieux...that being a 4th line has the potential to be a true difference maker...Maybe limited minutes but the ability to score and very defensively sound and tough as nails.

I just continue to look forward seeing our young guys develop and be put in situations that will help them in the long term. Seeing Stew, Jones, TJ, Wolski, McLeod, and Svatos perform well is nice for the future.

What do you think the lines will look like today with Jones and Lappy back?

Smyth-Wolski-Hejduk
Stewart-Hensick-Svatos
McLeod-Arnason-Jones
Tucker-Lappy-Willsie?

I would like to see the Lappy, McLEod Stewart line re-united, but management won't put up with Arny on the fourth line so I have a feeling we're stuck with Arny centering Jones and McLeod.

Dater kinda hinted that Willsie or Guite might be a scratch tonight in his blog.

But the Colorado Avalanche's website is still listing Lappy as being on the IR as of 11:30am AST.

Of course...the Official Colorado Avalanche website still listed Riku Hahl as being in the system as late as this past summer....They tend to update things a bit slowly over there.

Like you, I'd much rather see Lappy or even Guite on that third line and Tyler on the bench or 4th line. While I joke about hoping Pepe does us a favor by running Tyler into the boards, I'll also settle for Pepe making him look like a fool. Shouldn't be too hard even for a 43 year old winger. Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill every time. In this case, old age and treachery will overcome a slug.

I think they'll come out and play hard after the LA debacle. I say SJ wins 5-3 with an ENG.

I'm giving the boys an OT loss. Hard fought point...but one in a long stream of three point games coming up.

[edit...While I still love to see a winner and a loser to every game I hate the way the points are awarded. It should be either 1 point for a win and 0 for a loss or 2 points for a win in regulation, 1 points for a win in OT or SO with 0 points going to the losing team in free hockey. I love watching games not end in ties but part of me cringes everytime I see a team get points for losing. It's like rewarding bad-behaviour.]

I love this guy. Too bad he is playing against us...but it's hard for me to root against him. Great comeback and great story. While I wish him the best I still have to root for the AVs. Once we are elminated mathmatically, I think I know what team I'll be following and cheering for throughout the playoffs.
