if there is balance in the universe, the Avs will humiliate the Nux by 6 goals. But probably not... At this point, I have my eyes closed.

Will we get Jeckyl, or Hyde tonight? That is all it will come down to.

Keys of the game for the Avs:

-Powerplay MUST get their act together: This is a tip top penalty kill they are playing against. If they can get one, it will be great; two, it's an act of god. The Nucks have a great hard working PK, but it's not unbeatable.

-Joe Sakic must have another big game tonight. If he performs, the rest of the top six should put out the effort.

-Be smart, but don't let up if a lead is attained. Pretty self explainatory, if the Avs get a lead, they need to be extra careful with their defensive positioning, and I'm not just talking about D-men. Last game, their defensive awareness broke down every time the got a lead.

I'll be hoping for Brookbank v. Worrell again. Hopefully big Pete is ready to go again despite all the criticism he's recieved for the Oliwa incident.

Also, Nikolishin SHOULD be in the lineup tonight, no?

Enjoy the game boys and g'als!

vs. 'Nucks

I don't believe Worrell can play. Wasn't he suspended for 2 games?

If so, that leaves McAllister and/or Cummins to duke it out with Brookbank and May during the "revenge" tour. Ought to be interesting.

(**Paging Steve Moore**) Keep your head up, my friend.

Ba$tardum non corborundum.

What horrible line combos will we se tonight?

I'm guessing the 1st line of Tanguay/Sakic/Hejduk stays the same. 2nd line will be Konwalchuk/Nikolishin/Kariya. 3rd line, Hahl/Hedrickson/Hinote. 4th line, Moore or Worrell/Brigley/Selanne. But who knows with Coach G.

I didn't know Pete was suspended. For what going after Oliwa? What a joke.

The boxscore lists both Nikolishin and Worrell in the lineup.

Brigley out however.

Worrell

Well, the good news is he's playing tonight.

I read something today about an automatic 2-game suspension after a certain number of Instigator penalties. Maybe it was bull, or it was appealed, or just didn't go through. Whatever...

Worrell vs. Brookbank. Stay tuned, folks.

Baumer isn't a goon.. he couldn't crack Pittsburgh's top 6 earlier sooo... He is okay though I guess.. will have to do.. Brookbank is god awful at defense.. he'll play maybe 3-4 minutes.. better as a forward

The fights are early tonight:

May vs Worrell

I'll give the edge to May he got in a couple of punches and give him credit going against a bigger man.

Cooke vs Moore

More of a wrestling match. Cookie may have gotten a few shots in. Moore just wrestled Cooke to the ground.

Figures Vancouver wouldn't do anything until they got in front of their home fans.

Damn Cloutier should have had that one...1-0 Avs.

I knew this would happen. I happen to like the team of Vancouver...not as much as the Avalanche, of course, but I still respect a lot of their players and their organizations *at times*.

However, WAITING UNTIL THEY GOT BACK TO VANCOUVER!! That's just plain gutless, after Bertuzzi's "That kid's a piece of ***** (or garbage)" quote, and the Vancouver Canucks organization making this whole thing a big deal...THEY are the gutless ones for waiting until Vancouver.

Of course, Moore put them to rest when he rocked Cooke...however Cooke did get some good shots in.

People say Worrell is classless...to me, this is just as classless.

how is it classless? They were clean fights.. no cheapshots just clean fights? I don't understand this point of view.. you don't go and risk taking penalties on the road.

I call Worrell/May a draw. Pretty uneventful, the staredown was more exciting. I do give MAy a boatload of credit though. He's much smaller and just isn't the fighter he used to be.

Moore/Cooke I'll call a draw also. Moore did what he should have--hang on, and don't get embarassed. If he would have lost, Vancouver would have had massive momentum. Because Moore handled his own, the Avs were able to capitalize and get the early goal.

I'm still shocked that Cooke didn't get booted. His jersey clearly wasn't fastened down properly. Moore didn't pull on the jersey very hard, and all of a sudden it just "broke"? And knowing the ramifications of this game, I would even go as far to say that he did it on purpose. IF that's the case, then he's a coward. Oh wait, I've already labelled him that for past stuff.

Other than the scraps and the first goal, the period has been definitely more boring than the last game between these two.

Because they (The Nucks organizaiton) made a HUMONGOUS deal out of what was originally a CLEAN hit. Then they vowed revenge and put a bounty on the head of Moore.

However they won't do anything in Colorado, no, no, they must wait until they are in Vancouver.

Believe me, if Colorado did this, I'd be blasting them for their lack of class and taste.

Running your mouth and then not doing anything first chance *in other words waiting until you get your home ice* is classless, it makes the the team look bad *this is my opinion*

Oh please, Moore waited until Cookes gloves were off before he started punching...more than I can say for Bertuzzi...
