Foppa?

Forsberg is my favorite player, and brings tons of playoff experience. Having him would mean we would have THE two all-time best passers by a longshot on the sharks
BUT...
a)Where would he fit(maybe move cheech)
b)Wheres the capspace
c)What would he bring at his age

And would he even consider SJ

I know he probaly won't come here but look at this

Patty-JOE-Seto
Forsberg-Pavs-Michalik
Grier-Mitchell-Clowe
Shelly-Roenik-Lemeuix

Shelly, Philal, Semenov as reserves

and our amazing d corps

with nabby to backstop

Not going to happen. The Sharks do not have the cap room for the type of salary he would demand. Not to mention I really don't think the Sharks would make such a splashy move like that considering how well the current roster is performing.

JR, Blake, Lemieux and Foppa could help the Sharks cut costs by getting senior citizen discounts at Dennys.

Speaking of which, are we now the oldest team in the nhl?

I think someone here is getting hopeful about DW making more senior discounts I'm still up in the air about Claude, but since JR is out he seems to be filling that role so I'm

First, he'd have to sign for under $1m for the remainder of the season **.
Second, he'd have to be willing to play on the 4th line (i.e., be humble and a team player, fitting whatever role the Sharks need filled).
Third, he'd have to pass medical testing.

** = there could be performance bonuses IF the bonus padding is allowed for the remainder of this season; still waiting on NHL ruling.

Yes, he's played with a couple of the guys on the team, but I don't know that the Sharks need another "restoration/reclamation" project, just a lot of hunger.

Colorado and Philadelphia have been rumored to be the frontrunners for his services.

considering where those teams are, I find it doubtful that he will return honestly.

Does Jody have a brother that I don't know about?

Seeing Forsberg on this team would be cool, but with cap space I don't think we could make this fit without moving Cheechoo. With Foppa's injury history, I'd rather have Cheech in the playoffs than an injured Forsberg.

He also doesn't fit the bill. Guys like Roenick and Blake were rejuvenated because they left bad teams for a great team loaded with talent.

Forsberg the last few seasons has been with playoff teams, playing in the playoffs. And didn't do much. Bringing him in isn't like Roenick and Blake. It would be like Roenick and Blake if was healthy just wasting away with the Islanders or something.

Forsberg is not 100%, and may never be "100% for the NHL" again. So he doesn't really fit, sorry.

(I wonder why, though, in the OP, the lineup (And bench!) leaves off the person who is 6th in the NHL in faceoff % and is one of this team's best PK'ers, but that is a different story for other threads.)

Also left out was one Jonathan Cheechoo... Shelley does double time on the fourth line and as a healthy scratch though.

It's possible, but he doesn't play for the Sharks. I think he's a D on the Coyotes or something.

Because we'd likely have to trade someone away for space and his choice was Cheechoo.

I'd love to have a healthy Foppa here, I even made a post like this one year ago before he signed with Colorado and had an amazing 14 points in 9 games coming back, til he got injured in the playoffs again.

It's just that his foot is broken and there just doesn't seem to be a fix for it, him and his doctors have tried everything, even some electric thing shooting pulses into his foot to stimulate his muscles.
