I voted Hamhuis, I haven't watched much of him this season, however some fellow posters who aren't Preds fans, but I still consider to have accurate opinions are very high on him.
Liles is immensely underrated on this board, so I'm expecting comments from the ignorants such as "Hamhuis is a zillion times better than Liles will ever be." It's hard not to respect what he's done: made Skoula AND Morris expendable.
Considering the lengthy debate I had regarding Liles and Hamhuis around a month ago, I suppose I should weigh in. As someone that has seen both a lot, I have to go with Hamhuis. Better all around player that has the physical side necessary to excel. If he gets better with his positioning, Hamhuis will be a top player in this league in a few years. Liles is no slouch either; he has superior offensive instincts, good positioning and decision-making, and moves the puck extremely well. Liles only issue is with size on occasion. Plus Hamhuis is like 3-4 years younger and is playing a huge role for his team at a young age. Weighing everything, I take Hamhuis, but Liles has been exceptional as well. Just think Hamhuis has a brighter future given each player's total package.
wow, i didn't expect the poll to be this lopsided(and all but one vote is from avs fans). maybe i overrate liles(definitely don't underrate hamhuis, he's easily one of my favorite preds, and i think he's just going to keep getting better). anyway, i guess my question is answered.
