I love the fact that its being developed by Bioware so it will probably turn out real well.

Heard it a while ago. Bioware made good games. Now that EA owns them, who knows? I'm cautiously optimistic.

Those videos absolutely do not look amazing. If that was the best they could muster, they should have just not shown anything.

Still excited, going to pick it up, as I'm the biggest Star Wars fan here... but I'm somewhat hesitant because I know I'll be the only hotshot pilot scoundrel in a galaxy of Jedi. There's something lost from the Star Wars experience when you go into Mos Eisley cantina and everyone in the place has a ****in' lightSabre on their belt.

Also, that's some pretty funny word filtering there. So people can spell Pittsburgh without an H all they want, but they better make sure they don't besmirch the Sabres.

I was scared with the whole MMORPG, but I'm kinda intrigued with the story feature they've put in here. I'm wondering how that'll work.

With the whole Sith vs. Good guys part, I could see a huge war ground in space or on a planet or whatever, where your at war with the enemy constantly. And you can just join or whatever.

This game a fair bit of potential, I'm intrigued, I just hope they don't ruin a good franchise.

Considering they are pre-production...

Attempting to make an MMO is suicide.

Too late...

There's a reason why stories don't work in Mumorpugers, but at least BioWare are trying something new and challenging. I can respect that, even if the game falls flat on its face.

The "OMG it's EA!" thing is meaningless now. Ever since Riccitiello took over as CEO EA has made awesome games.

The irony of it all is that while EA was making repetitive bad games and sequels every year they were making money.

Now they're making quality original games and are losing money and EA employees are losing their jobs.

Pretty funny.

I'm sure it'll at the very least draw SWG refugees, and Bioware's rep will guarantee additional customers.

Fire Therrien, I also wouldn't be playing a Jedi or Sith or other lightsabre lemming (if I pick it up). I hope they can actually make it so that Jedi aren't overpowered, while still keeping them like... well... Jedi.

Meh, I don't buy it. They pushed that debacle that was called Hellgate: London out Flagship Studio's door, after all.

Well it'll be like WoW. The higher level you are, teh more powerful you are.

And I wouldn't worry about too many Jedi. They'll have tons of different species to pick from.

I understand how RPGs work, thanks. In the movies though, Jedi and Sith are far more dangerous than pretty much anything else. In a lot of RPGs, it can be difficult to balance classes. Jedi + RPG = potential for overpowered class, relative to the other classes in the game.

Again that was before Riccitiello took over.

Ever since he's taken over they've put out some pretty good games.

- Mirror's Edge
- Warhammer Online
- Dead Space
- Skate 2
- Red Alert 3
- Boom Blox
- Crysis
- Spore
- Mass Effect

All solid games that EA of old would never have put out.

Riccitiello is honestly the best thing that's happened to EA.

A Star Wars MMO is probably one of the strongest brands to put an MMO to. The problem with it is that the galaxy is simply too expansive to lock into one kind of gameplay. Star Wars has an element of dungeon crawling to it, but the definitive Star Wars game can't be about dungeon crawling. You need space battles, political wheeling and dealing, inhumanly fast racing, Sabre duels, tactical war strategy, stealth missions, meditative training...

The galaxy is so full of possibilities that to try to pin it into one form of gameplay is impossible. You can take any gameplay form and put it in a Star Wars metric and it makes sense.

If anything, it's Star Wars that should do the Final Fantasy XIII thing and try to produce a bunch of different styled games around one timeline. And not the Rebellion, please. Why not Legacy era, or the New Jedi Order, or the Vong invasion?

Yeah, Blizzard Entertainment sure killed themselves with that "World of Warcraft" flop.

I actually own Red Alert 3, and I like it. But the Russian accents are all horrible.

Plus every time I see Tim Curry on screen, I think of Frank N. Furter and cringe...
