I can't believe some here are thinking this is just a mini slump. It's a big time slump, and if it continues on the weekend it's a collapse because we get really hard games on the road after that. Habs haven't lost more than 6 games in a row in regulation since 1999 or so I think. It's gotten scary bad. And based on our 1-6 road record since Christmas, it's looking grim. We'll be fighting for 8th before you know it. I'm starting to dread going to their game in Calgary in a week and a half. We're Vancouver of the East all of a sudden, only we didn't do it with a big homestand.
Home cooking is badly needed. Going .500 from now on gets you into the playoffs (94 pts.) but this team is looking shaky. So much for 1st in the conf. and 4th-5th are slipping away. One step up, two steps back=story of post-lockout Habs. Can Gainey not see this team has no gritty scorers and bad chemistry overall? We seem to get worse when the injured guys return. I highly doubt Tanguay returning will be the answer. It will need to come within and Gainey is getting a good evaluation on these Cup "contenders." We seem willing to join Pittsburgh as one of the more disappointing teams in the league. This reminds me so much of Jan-Feb 2006 and Jan-Feb 2007. Ugh.
I could have told you from the begining of the game Akos Lang and Kovy wouldn't work
I could have told you from the begining of the game that Brisebois would be useless.
I could have told you from the begining of the game that our system doesn't work
What is it going to take for Carbo to realize this?
