News And Notes
Quote:
The Panthers have announced Rostislav Olesz will have surgery on his sports hernia injury on Wednesday.

We have known for a while that Olesz's groin injury was indeed a sports hernia, and JM said last week that he would need surgery for it.

Today's announcement is just letting everyone know the date of said surgery. And, as you've read before, it'll be done in Philadelphia. Officially: the surgery will be done at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philly by Dr. William Meyers.

JM says Olesz should be out eight weeks, but since some football players have come back from this surgery in as few as five weeks, it may not take that long.
Sun-Sentinel: Penalty killers foil Flyers' final flurry
Miami Herald: Florida Panthers' David Booth keeps improving
George Richards' Blog, Your Source For Reliable, Early Panthers Info!

Red Hot Cat Of The Night David Booth, with 17 points in his last 13 games, leads the team in points and goals.

Primary Target
Andrei Markov, the All Star defenseman who many claim is underrated around the league. If his team is any indication, he has certainly surpassed the talent of Kaberle, but the real question is, can he make hit comedies?

LET'S GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!

I've gotten greedy. I used to think "man, I'd love to sneak into the 8th seed and be in the playoffs", now with the way this team has played I'm thinking we should be pushing for a spot somewhere in the middle (4-6). Having said that, games like this against teams we never thought we'd be fighting with are very important. We win tonight and were only 6 points back of Montreal's #5 spot.

However, we still never play Montreal well at home (or "Montreal South" as someone else put it).

Yes--I noticed that the last time. What's with the "Montreal South?" I always used to cheer for the Leafs and got a kick out of seeing how many fans would be there when the Leafs went on the road. I always found it kind of funny to hear them chant and cheer.

Now, when I see the Montreal fans doing it here, I find it kind of annoying.

Go Panthers!

Great GDT as usual, thank you. Nice "poll"

That Markov Mr Bean thing is hilarious. I seriously thought I was the only guy who saw the resemblance.

The game is on TSN HD tonight too. Great news!!!

OT - is anyone having trouble with CI? all of my channels (621-634) are GONE and suckcast is saying they don't know what the deal is. 635 is there but is behaving as if it's blacked out. they aren't able to send anyone out (even though i know it's not a problem with my box) until tomorrow morning.

How about 2-0 with an early empty-netter so you don't have to sweat out the final minute?

Maybe this is a good omen...Luis Guzman is a Vermont resident. It favors my vote

...the again, it also means he lives closer to Montreal...

Meanwhile - love the Rowan Atkinson comparison

Go Panthers! I hope!

Never realized until I looked at this GDT, but the Cats stats are almost identical to the Habs. They've won 5 more games than us(stupid shootout losses), but their PP, PK, and individual stats are REALLY similar. Considering they are held to a standard of a "good" hockey club this season, and the Panthers still considered "mediocre" by most, what exactly does this 5 win difference say about the Cats? Is their club overrated or is ours underrated? Interesting. Go Cats!

Add to that our slow start while the players adapted to PDB's system and I'd say we're above mediocre.

I sure hope to see Booth on the top unit PP tonight. The team's leading goal scorer has earned it, wouldn't you think?

Thats cause they bite off the ESPN360 feed, which is the same as Center Ice online. Im glad I found that site though, and hopefully they will have it next season too so I dont have to pay for the crap ESPN360 again.
