Considering that Colorado is playing tonight (killing the Nucks) it won't be a player who is playing tonight.

Narrows it down a little

might have been for a 3rd rounder...i went to watch the Av's/Nucks game and all I caught was a third rounder, nothing else.

Im hoping Boychuk is in the deal.

Reportedly, the deal is Barnaby and a pick for a Colorado prospect, a pick, and a current player.

well i'm not sure what the pick is but david liffiton is a not a good prospect. well who knows what the market for barnaby really was but it would seem on the surface the rangers didn't make the best deal. who knows

If it's Boychuk, Lifton or Ballard, I'll be very happy.

Does this mean that we own 50% of the 2nd round now?

Liffiton is not ranked very highly...mostly because everyone assumes the Avs cupboard is bare. But he's a solid prospect. Probably won't be a bigtime impact player at the NHL level, but from the sounds of things, he'll be a safe, steady defensive prospect with a good shot of making it because he plays a solid game.

A 2nd rounder is always useful.

I'm happy that we aquired Barnaby, but considering he is an UFA, I think you guys got as much as you could have hoped to get.

(This is assuming of course that this particular report is correct)

I am starting to believe the rumor that a roster player is involved. TSN is usually pretty quick to post the details and they still haven't. Sportsnet has been known to jump the gun so I think I will wait and see.

Liffiton appears to be one type of prospect that is missing in the system. Tough stay at home d-man

Well considering what we have been getting for other guys, it sure doesn't seem like alot so far

Don't know much about the Liffiton, but seems like a reasonable return ... we've been getting pretty much a 2nd and a marginal prospect for each one of our rentals. At this rate, we better hope the 2nd round is a good one this year as we have half the round ... lol

There's a chance the 2nd could be Florida's, which Colorado owns...which is virtually a 1st rounder. So stay tuned.
