Stephen Valiquette night at the pub

http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r...%20valiquette/

First off I want to say thank you to everyone for coming out we had a blast. Second I want to say that Stephen is now my all time favorite person in sports. This guy was by far the nicest person I have ever met period. Steve signed autographs took pictures and told stories with everyone , he gave out his email and even his cell number to fans, The mask was last years and every who wanted to got to try it on and take pictures with it. He told us he is best friends with Orr and the Russians on the because he speaks Russian and they get a kick out of the white kid talking Russian. Steve got a huge kick out of my Ranger tattoos and laughed out loud when we started talking about this website as he checks it out from time to time. More stories later it is 3am

Great Pics Dagoon, funny stuff that he checks this site out from time to time, although we all knew that a lot of NHLers do the same, wonder if he posts

most hockey players are the nicest people you ever want to meet.

I had the pleasure to meet and play with a few and they all have been fantastic.
In Chicago I had the pleasure of spending some time with Eddy O and Murray Banner man (former keeper). Great guys.

Last year at the ASG I spoke with Dubi and Gomez. Ted Lindsay, Rod Gilbert, Willy Plett and they all were super nice.

So I am not surprised Vali is scholar and a gentlemen.

there are of course the odd exceptions......

Yes staal is feb 8th at 6pm

Some notes from signing

Team Super Bowl party is hosted by Gomez
Steve speaks perfect Russian
Has his masks made by Hank's guy in Sweden
No player in the league wants fighting taken out
Crosby is "plain out sick" he is said the blade of Sidney's stick is perfectly straight
He is expecting his first child.
Totally and I mean total hatred towards Avery
Loves coaching children at his camps and talks to and checks up on them weekly
more as I remember

I would love to hear some stories about why everyone seems to hate him. I mean, like what could he do so gain so much ire here and so much in dallas in like 15games. Im really curious to see how far his douchebaggery went!

You can almost just tell from the interviews that Steve is the kind of guy you;d like to have a beer with. Combine that with the fact he has played amazing for us in every game except one this year and I really hope he gets re-signed.

Steve's drink of choice is Black and Tan
He is So in love with his wife he made feel bad and go home and give mine a big hug and kiss.
Has the best signature of any athlete I have ever gotten
Scored me some Graves night tickets in the 100 level
His masks are being saved to give to his children,
The large chuck of the spiderman mask that is missing is from Colton Orr blasting him in the head in practice for him not dropping down in the butterfly against him and exposing the top of the net so Orr took a shot from a few feet away and blasted him in the head
He said Sid Crosby is incredibly strong on the puck and can't not be knocked off the puck and could skate in circles and get hit by everyone at few speed and not be knocked down. So how funny it is he just seems to flop all over the place and draw penalties.

Good stuff, congrats on the tix, take some good pics for us

The way Crosby gets from point A to point B is as fast as anyone i've seen, his strength & acceleration are fantastic.

Well that explains his phenomenal backhand shot.

The backhand is the most underused, underrated shot in hockey.

Glad we got the Valiquette appreciation thread up in time - hopefully he notices it but doesn't let it go to his head that some are calling for him to start more games.

Hence his reputation as a diver. Pretty sickening isn't it? I'm sure Sid knows that he can get away with it as much as he wants too.

BTW, I love how he hates Avery. I'm sure him and Dubi aren't the only ones.
