Do you think it could be possible ?
Claude Lemieux did it at 43.... Pavel is 37
terrible, misleading translation

Gino simply expressed his opinion. he said that the last time he saw Pavel, he was in great shape, and that in his opinion (Gino Odjick's), if Pavel was offered a contract in the NHL, he could come back.

Gino's opinion.

Everyone thought Selanne was pretty much done with his knee issues when Anaheim took the chance signing him to that one-year deal and look how many goals he put up since (and a Cup!)

With advancement in medical technology, it's possible Bure could have surgery and make a comeback...

As others have pointed out the translations aren't of the highest caliber. Even if they were spot-on I would take it with a grain of salt, I haven't seen Gino sober since he retired.

Bure-Sundin-Forsberg.

The "I can't make up my mind whether to play or not even though I'm washed up" line.

(yes, I know Forsberg isn't playing in the NHL this season but what the hell)

I actually think IF, a really big IF Bure was to return, I could see him back with the Panthers. I mean, he does live down here in S.FLA and although I heard he wasn't a pleasure in the locker room, from being my fav player I know he has tons of speed and now with no two-line passing, I could see more break aways from him and possibly more scoring.
With that being said, he is a bit... "seasoned" to come back and be a big threat, but I wouldn't mind seeing him play again.

Toronto is roughly 9 mil or so under the cap...he'd look good in a Leafs' uniform.

I'm just glad I got to see him in person back in 03. I remember one game in particular, it was Rangers vs. Panthers, he got the puck and was sprung on a breakaway. Guy was so quick. I was in the back row of whatever section I was in. I stood up the whole way through and knew he was going to score, it was just pure awesomeness. Such an amazing player. When the Rangers got him in their crappy years, he was able to put up 50 points in 51 games. Not many other Rangers were able to do that back then. He was truly a pleasure to watch.

Bure would have been awesome in this new NHL, but I'm sure it's too late. He probably made a comment like "Hell, I could do what Mats is doing for $6 000 000."

Valeri anyone? I mean, it's not like Candace is making any money right now. I wonder how the wine business is these days?

Some other options for the future.

Natasha Valerievna Bure (b. August 15, 1998),
Lev Valerievich Bure (b. February 20, 2000) and
Maksim Valerievich Bure (b. January 20, 2002).

Sure, let's sign him. Why not. We're practically guaranteed Tavares if we pull this off.

bure was known as a nortorious cherry picker. thatd be the softest 3rd line in the nhl. probably still be in the positive +/- with all that talent and speed though

Bure on one leg plays about 50 games and scores 25-30 goals. Which in today's NHL would earn him about 4-5 million a year. That guy in his prime with no redline would have broken Gretzky's record, IMO. Nobody today has the kind of skill that guy had.

As good as he'd look in a Leafs uni, he does not fit on a rebuilding team. If he goes anywhere, it's gonna be either a contender or an underachieving team hovering around that 8th spot (Vancouver?)

Consider the source: Gino Odjick.

I know he and Bure were friends, but he's not exactly a qualified reporter.
