#49 "Super Sunday" Preds at Oilers 12:00 PM MT

Attention: This is a GDT about the hockey game today and while this GDT has a Super Bowl theme it is still about hockey. There is a reason I didn't mention the Steelers or Cards. There is another place on this fourm where you can discuss the actual Super Bowl.

3. Put Arnott at work: Try to use him to start up the offence.

Whatever you do make sure you don't "run" the wrong way!

Oilers game is at noon, Super Bowl starts at 4pm local time.
I'm sure a lot of SB parties in Edmonton are starting at noon.

Hoping for the same first period effort as we had versus Minny. I don't like our odds of playing come-from-behind today.

Perhaps, but I for one will be watching the Oilers game. I haven't the slightest interest in Football nor the Superbowl.

Oilers need this win if they want to remain in playoff contention - in fact they need to put together a lot of wins from here on out. As of this morning 'we' are in 6th... but 'we' are tied in points with the 10th place team - things are tight in the West.

i suppose at this point of the year, and with the standings as ridiculously close as they are, what i'm about to say doesn't need to be pointed out, but.... this is a very big game.... there are 7 teams in the west separated by a measly 3 points... we have games in hand against all of them except minnesota, but we still need to get points in those games

nashville is a team that we have a pretty good chance at beating, but we need to grab 2 points here.... any loss against teams below us in the standings will come back to haunt us big time come april

we have to play better than 3 out of the 7 teams that are in the hunt, this is gonna be a long home stretch and possibly one of the closest playoff runs in history

I think Smack was taking notes while he sat out. He seems to be a quick learner and a good student. I believe the "problem" will be dealt with in a studios and expiditious fashion.

Yeah, if your Tootoo why the **** would you fight MacIntyre. MacIntyre just needs to drop one massive hit on someone else. I think Moreau, Staios, etc. will drop the gloves with Tootoo. I'm thinking Moreau as he's been ****blocked for the last couple fights.

KURTIS THE STOCK BOY
AND
BRENDA THE CHECKOUT GIRL

In a supermarket, Kurtis the stock boy, was busily working when a new voice
came over the loud speaker asking for a carry out at register 4. Kurtis was
almost finished, and wanted to get some fresh air, and decided to answer the
call. As he approached the check-out stand a distant smile caught his eye, the
new check-out girl was beautiful. She was an older woman (maybe 26, and he was
only 22) and he fell in love.

Later that day, after his shift was over, he waited by the punch clock to find
out her name. She came into the break room, smiled softly at him, took her card
and punched out, then left. He looked at her card, BRENDA. He walked out only
to see her! start walking up the road. Next day, he waited outside as she left
the supermarket, and offered her a ride home. He looked harmless enough, and she
accepted. When he dropped her off, he asked if maybe he could see her again,
outside of work. She simply said it wasn't possible.

He pressed and she explained she had two children and she couldn't afford a
baby-sitter, so he offered to pay for the baby-sitter. Reluctantly she accepted
his offer for a date for the following Saturday. That Saturday night he arrived
at her door only to have her tell him that she was unable to go with him...

I cut and pasted an entire story. I am also a Christian so it doesn't bother me at all.

If it bothers you, then perhaps you should nominate yourself for Internet King. Everyone can check with you before posting something. This way, we can be certain that all of our posts pass you discretion.

Well a perfect 3/3 for my teams/favorites was a little too much to ask for, so even though I'm already 0/3(stupid Nadal), I could live with 2/3. Hopefully the Oilers and Cards pull out wins.

Also, Hopefully Tootoo doesn't play. I want to see a consistent effort today, hopefully they don't come out flat, because as Jaded said, these games are becoming more and more important. If we can streak together a 4-5 win streak from now, we could really pull away from the rest of the division and the conference. SItting pretty at 5th would be great.
