Not really surprised that a thread about a call up turned into yet another thread about Gomez being traded

I thought I remember hearing that when he signed with the Rangers.

It's only 3 teams, and changes from year to year.

They're just doing this to take attention away from the SB.

Just kidding. Looking forward to seeing Anisimov sit in the press box....

Exactly. Unbelievable how people function here. As I have said before, if a drop of water fell from the sky Ranger fans would tell you to build an arc. It's never the most realistic and simple thing. It's always an extremely complicated scenario with a multitude of significant dominos falling.

Does anyone know the teams? It would seem he basically has a NTC?

Rangers have a spot open on their roster without having to make a trade. Drury can play wing as well. As for moving Gomez--you'd have to find someone to take that big contract and personally I think LA would be nuts to move Frolov for him. Nor do I think we should be looking to dump Dubinsky who has both talent and size--a combination in one player that we are in short supply of.

Anisimov is a talented player and hopefully he plays well enough to stick now but maybe we should wait and see how ready he is first.

If by some miracle LA is moving Frolov, you keep Gomez.

You offer any of/or any combo of Drury, Prucha, Dawes, Naslund, Voros and even Korpikoski.

But you keep Gomez. You move Dubinsky to the Right Wing with Gomez and see who works better on Gomer's Left Wing......Zherdev or Frolov. Then you build a Second Line with Anisimov.....Zherdev or Frolov and Callahan.

Those would be two nicely skilled top lines, if Anisimov could play at this level.

I think Drury has a NMC.

IIRC, he has limited NMC. He has to approve of the trade, first. But I'm not completely sure on it. There is a little flexibility with Drury.

Do you have a source for this? As far as I know, Drury has a full no-movement clause. Redden and Gomez are the ones that can provide a list of teams they refuse to be traded to.

Very interesting.

Perhaps they just feel he is ready and it is time to give him his shot while the offense is struggling.

We know that Glen Sather and Jim Schoenfeld were at a recent Wolf Pack game. Presumably to scout him and see if he is NHL ready.

Hopefully they don't do anything stupid, like not dress him.

What i think is that they are going to take Voros out of the lineup, move Drury to the wing, and insert Anisimov on the third line center.

Naslund - Gomez - Callahan
Drury - Dubinsky - Zherdev
Dawes - Anisimov - Korpikoski
Sjostrom - Betts - Orr

This would be my guess.

I am excited to see him play. Hopefully he can keep his game simple and get used to the pace relatively quickly. I'm hoping it has something to do with a precursor to a larger move where Sather can get someone to take Gomez but I dont think it will happen. If Anisimov can add some offensive help then he needs to stay.

Barring a trade, the Rangers had to call somebody up in response to their putrid offense..whether the call up actually contributes or just sparks better play from the other too-comfortable players doesn't matter....I'd rather have ANisimov in Hartford the entire year but the big club is in big trouble and AA and Parentau (waiver problem when sent down?) are the only two worthy candidates..Hope it helps a little bit like Dubi, Isbister and ??? did a few years ago...

IMO this is a move to see if he is ready(obviously) and the plan is if he's not to go get a forward with some size for the playoffs?

who cares what Drury has, he's the captain of this team, he's not going anywhere.

good idea if he is eligible........in a perfect world the youth steps up now.....Anisimov, Zherdev ,Dubinsky, Korpikoski,Dawes.........I have total trust in Callahan now so I don't put him in that category
