Carle...

As you can see I am from the wonderful state of Alaska. I was wondering how he was doing and where do you see him in your future? I know it was shaky with both San Jose and Tampa... but I see him settling nicely in Philly. Hated playing against him growing, LOL. Sorry i fhtis is on the board already... I didnt see it and I haven't followed the flyers since Keith Primeau and John LeClair. Thanks!

I really like his play, but sometimes I feel like I'm a rare supporter. He makes his fair share of mistakes but i think he makes up for it with some good passes out of the zone and his ability to join the rush. He's even gotten some great shots from the point.

He needs to play up to his contract. Otherwise he is doing okay. If he can be more reliable on D and become more of a factor in scoring, I'll be happy with him. Right now I like the trade to get him, and like him as a player, He just needs to be better.

I really think that stsvens is an idiot for keeping him and Coburn together. They both love jumping up and simply arent a great pair.

Timonen-Coburn
Vaananen-Carle

Carle has looked good but he and Coburn both get lost sometimes

^ I think Carle and Ossi make a good combo. Ossi almost always stays back so he can cover his ass and most of the time he will.

I think Carle would've done very well paired with HATCHER. Perhaps if Smith hadnt been let go, he wouldve been a good fit with Carle.

I feel Carle needs to be paired with a solid stay at home veteran presence.

Coburn also needs to be paired with a good vet, which is why he does well with Timo.

I really like when Carle takes that shot. He just has to make sure it can get to the net first, but hes a lot of fun to watch on the PP.

Carle just needs time to develop. He's got the ability to be a very good offensive defenseman. The thing I like about him, when he makes a mistake, he seems to be busting his ass to make up for it.

So he's showing some of the offensive flair that he showed in SJ? I'm really rooting for the kid, hopefully his confidence is slowly coming back.

His defensive play has been pretty good. He has shown some offense, but not consistent. But I am really happy with what eh has brought to the team, our transition game has imrpoved having him and Timmonen on our top- 2 pairings

Glad to hear that his defensive game has been solid. I always have to remind myself that it's only his 3rd season. The kid had 42 points in his first season (not counting his 12 game stint in 05/06).

I can't quite figure him out yet, he has the skills ( passing and shooting) and plays on the PP but the points are not there.

I do not worry about points from a d-man that much. I think they are highly over rated. If you watch teh game, you can see that carle moves the puck and is comfortable with it. he does not rush the pass and makes the right reads. Points will come, but even if they don't, that just means his next contract is not as high
