Who do you think they will target if they actually do get one? What shall they give up as well lupul or upshall the top contenders to leave and who would they bring up to stay in the line up from the phantoms?
When I clicked this, the title led me to beleive this would be a link to an article that would have some insight. Dumb me clicked it, and it is just the same 40 threads we have seen lately. lol.
How about Brendan Witt with the Islanders? He'd be an ideal fit here in Philly. Mean streak a mile long, more mobile than Hatcher, and a very physical presence/border line dirty. He'd be great here.
Pair coburn with Lupol both are hugh disappointments, crap Devils have gotten way more out of Mediocre defense then us which brings me back to Stevens.

This poster appears to be a moron with and english major.
Suggesting that Coburn should be traded at this point is really pretty absurd. Yes he's having a "rough" season but it's basically his sophmore year and lots of players have slumps like that. He is still playing like a 3/4 defenseman and at the current time he's being paid LESS than one of those, so that's why you got ripped.

Im glad you settle for rough... I dont expect consistent bad play& shy from hits from a Player that was ranked with Dustin Brown & Pfannuf, oh this is his third season 5 year since draft I guess he is real slow learner.

Coburn is playing OK. People make it out to seem like he's playing at a 3rd pairing level. I wish he was doing better, but if he plays like a #4 like he has been, we will get a nice price break on him

Fine with me, as long as we dont give up anything significant.

Um, if Stevens is the problem, why would you trade the player instead of just replacing Stevens?????

Listen chieftan, if you are going to try and quote someone (twice), at least do so correctly.

Very true, he thought I was an english major, thinking I was in college. Was just setting the record straight.
i think too many people put coburn in the offensive category. hes a nice passer and has a good shot from the point but i see his strengths as primarily defensive. hes not having a good year but its waay too soon to talk about moving him.
id like to see sbisa play consistently on the 3rd pairing. if that means moving jones then so be it. be a nice opportunity to pick up a 2nd but id settle for a 3rd and a propsect
in my best case scenario wed have 3 offensive d and 3 defensive.
kimo carle sbisa
ozzy coburn alberts
depending on who the new guy would pair with says which dman would become available alberts or vaananen. while ozzy is the better player alberts is younger and grittier which i think would be the point of an upgrade (getting more physical). so the move to make is ozzy plus whatever we can get for jones and maybe some additions for a legit 1st pairing d. some of you may want to move alberts instead as hes more expensive capwise and well, isnt as good, but i think he gets you less and without significant additions may wind up a lateral move.
i dont like the idea of moving a forward for a defenseman as we are really dependant on our scoring to get us ahead in games. in addition we already have 7 d (8 with kukkonen) and parent stuck across the street as is. if we are going to bring someone in we have two spots to free up not just one.
In no way can Coburn considered a defensive defenseman. I'd say Jones is more equipt to handle that tag than Coburn -- his upside is his speed and shot from the point, and I think he will never be great defensively. He'll make good plays (once he gets out of this funk) but you won't see him knocking people around on a game to game basis.
