Here's a crazy thing I saw in the paper this morning:

Backstrom's save %: 0.927
Toskala's save %: 0.884

# of games Minnesota has lost in regulation with Backstrom in goal: 17
# of games Toronto has lost in regulation with Toskala in goal: 17

(The stats are up to date through Sunday's games)

Crazy.

Malkin Interview with Puck Daddy.

Quote:
PD:Not long ago ESPN had a survey where 24% of players surveyed said that the Philadelphia Flyers have the most disruptive fans. Have you ever been, even a little, afraid of Flyers fans?

EM: I agree with the players [who named Flyers fans]. I can't say that I am afraid of them though. Although I do remember one game in Philadelphia last year when we had popcorn thrown to our bench by Flyers' fans, other garbage. Thank god there were no bottles thrown. And their fans also jump on the glass behind the bench, or behind the glass. People don't behave that good there. I have never seen anything like this anywhere. And this survey showed that other players noticed it too. I am surprised by those fans. But I understand that they are just supporting their team.

Minnesota is also lucky to score 1 or 2 goals a game.

playing hockey on perfect ice is pretty awesome though.

Never got the drinking thing. The only times I can't remember parts of evenings usually involved a concussion from a slapshot to the dome. I've lost at least one women due to the fact that she enjoyed drinking more than spending time with me not drinking. Also probably why I tend to avoid women still in the college phase.

Somewhat related. Since I've been on vacation for the last week i missed the beatpot info, and luckily got all the news from a cute business woman from boston on my plane ride back to the states.

Actually, it is entirely true, since the article only pointed out the regulation losses.

Don't know if it was posted yet.
Avery to play for the Wolfpack since Dallas does not have a direct affiliate. They said he will not play for the Stars though.

I would venture to guess he will be there till the deadline at least. Of course this fuels more of the rumors of him going back to the Rangers. That team some issues though, doubt Avery is the answer. Wouldnt shock me if that was a divided lockerroom on Tom Renney staying or getting canned. Looks like to me he has players on that team that have tuned him out.

Unless he does something really stupid, he'll be a Ranger in the next couple weeks.

unless another team gets a injury to a top 9 forward that is below the Rangers in the standings. Are the Rangers the only definite team that would claim Avery on re-entry waivers?
? I am not so sure.

I'm not 100% either, but I saw a clip up here on sports center that eluded to the fact that the Stars and Rangers already have a deal in place that would bring Avery back to the blue shirts. I know that doesn't mean anything until the deal is final...but for what it's worth, that's whats being reported.

One thing is for sure, we'll find out soon enough.

Jagr to sign with...

http://communities.canada.com/edmont...on-oilers.aspx

the Oilers?

Discounting the whole 'must pass through waivers' thing, why would he sign with Edmonton?

Visnovsky is out for the season to have shoulder surgery.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_yl...v=ap&type=lgns

Ryder is out 3 weeks.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_yl...v=ap&type=lgns

I had both players in one of my fantasy leagues. Ryder isnt a major loss for me though.

Okay guys, I have a really important question.

I'm in a keeper dynasty league with a 71.7 mill salary cap (16 teams) and I had this trade offered to me.

To FlyHigh: Dustin Brown (3.175, 13/14)

To other team: Blake Wheeler (2.825, 09/10)

I know this seems like a relative no-brainer for Brown especially with the salary factor, but I am really agonizing over it for some reason.

Anyone have any advice one way or the other?
