1PM. We're on Central, not Mountain, although I had us on Eastern.

They played with a lot of intensity against Minnesota... I wouldn't be surprised to see them come out a bit flat.

If we win this one, we come out of the break having a really good road trip. If we lose, it could indicate how the rest of the season is going. I missed Friday nights game, but it sounds like Legwand/Erat where really putting on the pressure. Lets hope that continues. Additionally, anytime Ryan Jones gets 5 shots is a good thing as 3-4 of those are in tight. If he gets 5 shots tonight, he will score a goal.

With that said, I'm still pessimistic on this team. We are a weak road team and aside from the PP explosion in Vancouver, our PP has not helped us win the close games. Putting Weber on the second powerplay unit is a mistake.....no matter how you slice it. Make the Suter/Sullivan pairing the second pp unit if you need to, but please do not take Weber (he of ~50% of our PP production) off the number one unit!

3-2 Edmonton

Weber, Jones for Nashville. 33 saves for Ellis.

I disagree, I think Ellis is pissed, he's gonna be playing like it's his last game.

1-0 Goal by Leggy, 28 saves by Ellis.

we are winning this game gentlmen. The Oil only have a few more wins than we do and we need the points more. Strong checking, good goaltending and a 4th liner chipping one in will lead us to victory.

:and now back to your regularly scheduled reailty:

I'm surprised to see us give 3 straight starts to Rinne. For only the second time in our history we have had a goaltender win the job away from the starter (Vokoun over Dunham......Rinne now over Ellis). Ellis has been playing good hockey, but Rinne has been fabulous over the last 10 or so starts....

EDIT: Ward has to score there. One-time that rebound......ugh....

EDIT2: Rinne has been amazing through 2 periods.

Nice road game victory for the Preds. Rinne with a GREAT game. There is no question- he is a much, much better goalie than Ellis. Good call to give him the net again. I'd be fine if Ellis gets 3 more the rest of the season.

Jones played a terrific game. He looks much better than at the start of the year. That line is looking great. Legwand also with another strong game. Our PK was unbelievable. JP and Erat both look like they have come out of hibernation.

It still pains me to see VK in the lineup. Philstrom looked strong from his rest and hit a post on a glove deflection after a quick wrister. That guy needs a goal. Also, Joel Ward had flashes of looking like a dominating power forward controlling the puck.

All in all a strong effort. It feels like this team might have a little bit of a run in them.

Hey Neck, is that kind of like saying, "you may not swallow but you suck"?

Credit may go to SLake, and it's well deserved, but I have been on the Rinne bandwagon since last April. I can't express how happy I am that he has won the job and is playing like an elite goalie right now. I don't care who "called it" or who was on the bandwagon when this season started, the Preds needed a goalie to get hot and it has come in the form of that big ol' Pekka.

Its hard to judge him. At times he looks like the old Stevie, but others he looks tentative, alot slower, he hasn't scored a goal yet in like 8 games.

MacT Credits Preds 4th Liners

Edmonton head coach Craig MacTavish said his team was undone by a hungry Predators lineup, and called on his team to do the same.

"We didn't have enough jam from our role players," he said. "It was a case of the (Joel) Ward's and (Jerred) Smithson's outplaying four or five of our guys that we are counting on to do the same thing.

Great effort and hard-working for 60 minutes, from the opening faceoff to the buzzer at the end of the game. Rinne played great, some unbelievable saves. A few posts or it could have been 4-1 Nashville.

2-1 on the road trip, nice job.
