Hopefully the team puts in a good all round solid effort, unlike today's GDT.
While I applaud the effort, imagination & execution of the spectacular GDTs that have been on display on this board this season, I must focus on results: which are crappy. When the GDT is better than the team, it's a bad thing.

Yeah, but by that standard, a 10-2 blowout is better than the current GDT. And no offense, I'm the one who did the last CHI game's GDT but I agree with it this time though, it is a kind of statement about the last Chicago game. To me, it is fitting (this time, and perhaps next game vs BUF).
i don't expect a 7-2 loss, and i expect a better overall effort from our guys tonight - especially after the nashville stinker.... but we're simply not a good enough team to beat chicago... a loss by 3-2 or 4-2 is what we should all expect
Not to mention it didn't hurt that they cashed in on an 8.1% chance to win the draft lottery, and subsequently Patrick Kane.
I wonder how different the 'commitment to a rebuild' strategies of the Oilers and Black Hawks would've been if Washington had won their final home game of the year back then?
For all the talk of tanking for a rebuild, there's no denying that there's as much dumb luck involved as there is any sort of grand strategy.
Perhaps, but drafting in the top five (regardless of the lottery) is going to assure a bit better roster than middle of the road picks. Luck or not, all the Oilers have been doing is perpetuating their own status quo... from the outside looking in, whether it be during the draft, or during the playoffs. But at least they still sell out every game.
