Yes. I hate this one. This comes from people writing words the way they hear them, but not listening well. Also, "suppose to" for "supposed to".

The variant I haven't seen mentioned is "Tavarez" and any other form ending in -z. When posters can't learn to spell his name right, I assume their other knowledge of the prospect is just as faulty.

Another one that recently came up in the "Is Mats Sundin washed up?" thread is "common" for "come on". I mean, come on, people. They don't even sound alike.

Although it's less prevalent now, "Bieska" instead of "Bieksa."

Also, the above mentioned "rediculous" and "common." Must not read books to make those mistakes. Why don't people read books anymore?

Some people don't know the difference between the word "then" and "than". That annoys me because an eight year old should know that.

From the options, Stall forsure.

Thorton bugs me and Jerome Iginla.

"Rediculous" bothers me more than anything. Do schools not teach spelling beyond the 3rd grade these days?

For the Bruins:

Axellson, Axellsson, Axelson

The guy has been in Boston for more than a decade and people still cant get it right!

Ferrence is a pretty common one too

Not a spelling thing, but "I could care less" is really annoying. It doesn't even make sense in the context people use it. It should be: "I couldn't care less"

Sometimes it leads to people forever mispronouncing the name (or maybe mispronunciation led to the misspelling). Case in point: Bieksa, who is often called Bieska.

From the poll options, Stall. Staal is not that difficult a name to spell.

Now that the conversation has shifted more to include misspellings of specific words rather than just players' names, I'd just like to reiterate my dissatisfaction at constantly seeing "ludacris". I can sort of understand people using "common" or "bias" or "dominate" incorrectly, because they're actual words that the spellchecker won't catch. But if you're typing a response, and that little funny red underline pops up under a word, it's time to stop and think about what you might be doing wrong.

Thorton used to annoy me, but I've only seen it misspelled in relation to Joe, but never Shawn or Scott. Very strange.

I can't believe no one has mentioned KRECJI .... That one drives me nuts. It's K-R-E-J-C-I

Bad enough the guy gets snubbed from even the Young Stars game, but 80 % of people spell it wrong too. That's probably why he wasn't invited.

Definitely "Lindstrom." He's only been the best dman of the last decade, and arguably the best player in the league over the past decade.

Wait, I change my vote. This is definitely it.

And on that note, it drives me crazy when people say things like "I am bias" instead of "I am biased." Happens all the time.

Colombus. Jesus people is Columbus really that hard to spell? It's a freaking U.S. State Capital.
