Which UFA's do you wanna keep?

Of the pending 11 UFA's we have which would you like to see the team keep? For me it's Komi , Koivu, Kosto. I would also heavily consider Lang if the price was right.

Koivu
Komisarek (for the right price only)
Kostopoulos

In that order.

Who are the eleven?

1. Koivu
2. Kovalev
3. Kosto
4. Bouillion
5. Dandenault
6. Begin
7. Lang
8. Tanguay
9. Brisebois
10. Komisarek

Who am I missing?

Oh, I'd keep Koivu, Kosto, Komisarek and one of Tanguay or Kovalev. Remember, just because the Habs don't resign a scorer will they be able to use those funds on a replacement.

What about Koivu...how can anyone who's a Montreal fan not want to keep the heart and soul of this team. He doesn't have to be a first line Centre if BRASS would only go out and get one!

Koivu is the perfect compliment to a number C.
Can play Pk and PP and is solid 5 on 5, he does nothing ala Superstar but does everything above avg.

Komisarek, Koivu, and Kostopoulos. Maybe Lang and maybe Tanguay. I'm really disappointed with the way Kovalev is playing.

I would only keep Koivu if he accepted 2 mill or less, he just looks so slow and worn out

?

Why no love for Begin. He isn't perfect, but he will never take a night off for us. Can't ask much more from a 3rd/4th liner

with all the ufa's playing like trash right now, it would be a good time to capitalize on the little leverage that they have. too bad gainey has stupid rules in place.

1. Komisarek

He's having a sub-par season by his standards (or the ones set up for him) but I shudder to think of what this team would look like without him.

2. Koivu

Imagine going into next year with Plekanec and Lapierre as our top 2 centres. Koivu is a must. If the team could somehow get that coveted #1 center via trade, Koivu would fit nicely in the #2 slot. Right now though, I'm wondering if Koivu would even want to re-sign.

3. Tanguay

We'll need the offense and I wouldn't roll the dice on attracting other UFAs, the team has been burnt way too many times in the past.

4. Kostopoulos

If he comes cheap, he's the perfect 4th liner and team guy.

I don't really care about the rest but if you want cheap depth, Begin and Bouillon could be 13th forward, 7th d-man. I wouldn't pay Bouillon nearly as much as he's earning now though.

If Lang can resume his career and the team could sign him in the 3M range, I'd be honoured to have him back. The guy's a class act and I think he brightens up the locker room.

Koivu
Lang
Tanguay
Komisarek

Komisarek is priority.

Koivu and Tanguay at a hometown discount.

Lang if healthy.

I'd rather play Stewart in that energy line with Kostopoulos. Stewart would comes with less of a cap hit and a two way contract and he can fight. Begin is all heart ala Boullion but at some point you need more then heart. No one is afraid of Begin..Stewart would bring that same energy level but with more punishment!

I'd keep Komisarek, Koivu, Kostopoulos and maybe Lang or Tanguay. Bégin and Bouillon if they accept less than 1M$, maybe...

I would keep the following:

Komisarek 4.5 per yr for 5 years (if refejcted, offer him to NYI for their 1st rnd pick)
Koivu 3.5 per for 2 yrs
Kostpoulos 1.1 per for 2 years
Tanguay 4.0 per for 2 years
Kovalev 3.75 for one year

Plekenec 1.8 for one yr
Higgins 2.0 per for 2 years.

Thanks all the B's for their hard work and Bye-Bye to them. Dandy as well.

IN:
  • Koivu (at the right price though)
  • Komisarek (if he's too expansive, let him walk)
  • Tanguay (see Koivu)

OUT:
  • Kovalev (finally)
  • Begin
  • Brisebois
  • Dandenault
  • Lang (we can get cheaper and younger)
  • Kostopoulos (see Lang)
  • Bouillon

But this thread is quite pre-mature as I have a feeling that a few of them won't be with us by March 4th...
