Laraque is speaking Russian

A reporter was saying on Team 990 that George was talking to Sergei this morning in Russian. At least saying a few phrases.

He was probably saying:"stupid reporters!"

This guy is strange. He fights, yet do not like it. He's a monster yet he has to send a fax to ask other guys to fight. He's a bullie yet, he's this smiley cheery dude in real life, etc...Speaks Russian yet can barely write. (ok I made this one up about the writing). But the guy is a World of mystery.

He's a mystery cause he learned a couple of phrases in Russian?

He seems to be an intelligent guy. He definitely doesn't fit the stereotype "goon".

he was one of the best soccer players in Quebec when he was younger ... one of the fastest guys in the LSEQ. scoring tons of goals , played as a forward , everybody feared him. gifted individual , to say the least.

He's a valuable player and I look forward to seeing him back in the lineup on a regular basis.

Impressive. Russian is a hard language, I have trouble putting sentences together even after nearly 2 years of studying it. My respect for him just went up a notch!

Odjick speaked Russian, because he had Pavel Bure as a roomate in Vancouver. I think that he was Markov roomate when he started in Montreal

Valiquette, Rangers' backup, played one year in Russia and he was talking russian to one of his teamate in New York

I know that this has not much to do with the subject, but those are cool facts.

Odjick and Bure were best friends even away from hockey.

Damn him! if he is a professionnal athlete who can fight AND is a well-spoken articulate individual, what does that leave me in terms of stereotypes I can use? What am I gonna senselessly shout If I ever feel discontent?
Quite a quagmire...

I heard that Brashear was going to Russia this offseason to learn more Russian too.

Maybe it's a new trend in the NHL?

I would see him on 110% or L'Antichambre or La Zone when he retire. He would be great.

Similar to Morrissette right now
