Jokinen would be tied for fifth in goal scoring for the Sens

The Lightning are a joke.

Someone should grab him. He obviously has skill.

If the Lightning are a joke that doesn't say much for Jokinen considering he is a healthy scratch being outplayed by the likes of Adam Hall and Matt Pettinger. He may have skill but considering he hasn't scored since early november he sure isn't showing any.

Well, he would help our shootout record.

Vermette - Spezza - Heatley
Jokinen - Fisher - Alfredsson
Foligno - Regin - Winchester
Ruutu/McAmmond - Kelly - Neil

Not too bad.

If he goes unclaimed - well I'll be pretty angry.

I think Nashville will claim.

I hope Edmonton does though.

Cogliano and Jokinen would be a pretty good duo.

How exactly would that be bad? Just because you have the #1 team in the conference doesn't mean you get to take a dump on everyone else's team.

Jokinen on any second line can be considered bad.

I'm pretty sure the Sens have the worst shootout record in history. We should get him

Seriously doubt it. The guy hasn't scored a goal since November and we need someone who can at least hustle and bring some spark. I would take Prucha long before Jokinen.

"Lightning general manager Brian Lawton said Wednesday that forward Jussi Jokinen was put on waivers and come Thursday likely will no longer be with the Lightning. Lawton said he has had contact with another team that expressed interest in Jokinen. We will find out at noon Thursday whether he was claimed. If not, Lawton said Jokinen and his $1.875-million salary will be shipped to AHL Norfolk. At that point, the salary would come off the Lightning's salary cap number.

Jokinen was seen leaving Mellon Arena with his laundry bag at about noon Wednesday, when he would have been put on waivers. Before heading out, he apologized for not being able to say more than "no comment right now."

So there is at least one team that intends to claim him. Maybe Shero will claim him while he's in Pittsburgh....

just because he has the same last name does not mean they are related...

as well just because one is from a town in East Finland and the other West Finland does not mean they are not related either. I have family across the country...we werent all born in the same city

moot point though....they aren't brothers

Not necessarily...it's possible that team talked to the Bolts about trading for Jokinen if they would take salary back in return and Tampa didn't bite...but who knows.

Jokinen looks pretty good at center also. He was a faceoff winning machine for a while in Dallas. Higgins is a lot stronger on the boards than Jokinen which makes him a better fit at wing I think.

And the season before that?

Sure the Canucks have done jack since they came into the league in 1970 - but what have the Kings done?

Who's that Regin guy and why would he be above Chris Kelly?
