Maybe that's because he plays for the Lightning. I doubt it's a coincidence that Jokinen only scored 8 goals in his 66 games with the Lightning, but had 14 in 52 with Dallas before they traded him.

No offense, but the new owners and GM are insane. You can't make a million moves and hope suddenly the team will be good. I'm not saying you don't realize that, I'm just justifying my comment that the Lightning have become the joke franchise of the 2008-2009 season.

Jokinen is "confidence" player, meaning if his confidence is low it shows on the scoreboard. But for all who say he dont have many goals, he is not really goalscorer. More like a playmaker but he would love to score more goals. Before season he said he wants a fresh start and to be the "skilled forward" he always wanted to be.

First season in the NHL was just awesome, putting up (still career high) points 55 and doing magics in the shootout. But after that its just been downhill. Maybe his confidence was at its highest. He also put reasonable good points last season with tampa in like 20 games.

But really, i would love to see him in team that dont use him on the PK.

the rangers just got rid of fritsche who played C, so what's the point of getting jokinen with his 1.8 million cap hit? (though it would be only .6 pro rated i guess)

Yes, he was utilized heavily as a center this season.

He kind of was going to get squeezed out no matter what. Once Halpern came back from injury, Jokinen wasn't as valuable as a center anymore with Lecavalier, Stamkos, and Halpern down the middle. The Jokir isn't strong enough for a traditional bottom six role, and was outplayed by the top two line wings.

He wasn't able to play the Rick Tocchet physical-offensive game and seemed to always be in the doghouse for it.

Jussi did find some chemistry with Downie and Stamkos right before he was waived though.

It's a shame that he gets waived to make room for Gary Roberts' farty face. The game has passed him by, and he's already said he'll retire after this season. But no, kick the 25 year old RFA off for a crappy, even more overpaid dinosaur, who has one foot in the glue factory.

Burke would be interested in a soft Euro who doesn't score, play defense and isn't physical?

I am not sure how people don't get my thinking on this. Also with the salary just move Prucha out

Anisimov was called up for the exact reason why I think Jokinen could be picked up..........they want their top 6 in the top 6

How does it not make sense to keep these lines:

Dubinsky, Drury, Zherdev
Naslund, Gomez, TRADE for top 6( use 2nd, Dawes, etc) Tkathuk?
Korpikoski, Jokinen, Callahan
Sjostrom ,Betts, Orr, Voros

They have to wait until the deadline to find out all the interested parties and see who gets him based on the worst record.
