To answer the second question. Certainly not Ottawa.
So my conclusion is he would be a great second line center in LA ( sorry Spezza fans )

No way.
Sully, Bernier,Hickey, and a 2nd maybe.

But removing any of our top 6 would be bad, just create another hole.

Bernier, Hickey, Moller, and a 1st?
I think a package of O'Sullivan, Hickey, Moller, and a 2nd-round pick would work, especially if LA didn't want to part with either Frolov or Johnson.

Why? I said it on the Eric Staal thread, stars for stars trades just don't happen anymore. At least since the lockout. The Thornton trade the Hossa trade to name a few. Look at reality here, you will not get a Kopitar player for Spezza.

It doesn't serve any of Ottawas needs, we already have a blue chip puck moving prospect in Erik Karlson who is better then Hickey, we already have a young goaltender better then Bernier by the name of Brian Elliot and we'd have no #1 center.. Are you 15? This is some really really stupid stuff..

it would be really hard to let sully and moller go but i think i would do it. How long is Spezza signed? He is at 7m?

Spezza is in the first year of a 7-year deal, so he has 6 years remaining at an annual cap hit of $7M.

I understand you dont agree but lets try to stick to topic and not insult people,
Spezza is a great player and imo would be a #1 c for the kings, i just hoped it would be for Bernier, Hickey, Moller

My bad.. not trying to be too harsh.. but this under cutting of Spezza lately is just unreal.. The guy is one of the 5 most talented offensive forwards in the NHL..

Kopitar is nothing compared to Spezza regardless of how many L.A Kings fans you have say otherwise.. I'm a Flames fan.. not a sens fan in the least.. just live here..

Brown - Spezza - Sully
Frolov- Kopitar - Simmonds

would be a 1a 1b line situation, and i think we would make the playoffs with that lineup

Dude, you make us look bad saying stuff like this. Neither of these points are true no matter how much you beleive them. Karlson and Hickey is pretty much dead even where as Bernier has a much higher ceiling than Elliot and I love Elliot.

I must admit, I think Karlson will end up being better than Hickey, but not by much and Elliot/Bernier is a wash for us at best, with a chance that Bernier is a much better goalie.

Some of the proposals are outrageous. Especially from kings fans.

Spezza is not worth that much.

I would hate to part with Sully as he'll easily be a ppg guy. I love the way he darts in and out but in order to get a Spezza, you got to give up a lot.

Having said that, I would tweaked the final offer and switch our first for Ottawa's first.

So the final offer would look like this:

Ottawa gets:

Sully
Hickey
Moeller
Kings first 09
Kings second 09

LA gets:

Spezza
Ottawas first 09

On a side note, I don't know if anyone else has checked it out or not but Spezza's due to make $8 mil a season for the next 6 or 7 yrs.

Elliot better than Bernier? ok there.. Erik Karlsson is a good puckmoving D man and Hickey is well, not. Hickey is actually more of a solid shutodwn guy more than anything. You have Volchenkov and Smith who will not last long, Hickey fits in well. Oscar Moller would give you guys goal scoring depth which is absolutely a need as it shows. Seriously your the one acting 15... stupid comment.

Spezza is a better player than Kopitar, without a doubt in my mind. Fair weather fans make me giggle like a school girl.

I agree though, with both you'd end up with two very strong scoring lines - neither really being the "number 1" line.

Take it easy pal.
Hes probably not top 5, but hes up there. Saying Kopitar is nothing compared to Spezza just makes you sound like a fool.

Doesnt Spezza making 7 million for the next 6 years make it a problem for LA?

Sens would be getting a lot of Cap space...So giving a hole lot for Spezza does not make sense escpecially when Kopitar is making 7 million also..
