I have to go with Mason in this one, although Ryan could change my mind if he keeps up his play.

1.Doughty(not just as a homer pick too)
2.Mason
3.Ryan

Doughty leads all players in ice time per game. Yes, I said he lead all players at one point in the last week, maybe still, but I dont know.

If Colombus makes playoffs, Mason wins Calder and Vezina or Hart in my opinion

EJ did a lot more with much less ice time last year and didn't win the Calder. I know what it's like to be excited about a good young defender but it is an uphill Battle for Doughty to win this one. It doesn't mean that long term he doesn't have a strong chance at being the best out of this rookie class though. I'm not trying to bash Doughty here he's awesome just be prepared for him to get snubbed.

I wouldn't leave other forwards like Berglund, Wheeler, and Versteeg out of this conversation either. All of those guys are a good extended hot streak away from being highly considered as well.

A reluctant vote for Mason, but I love Doughty.

Mason's playing out of his mind. He would have to have a less then stellar end of the season to not win this in my opinion.

if the CBJ's get in the playoffs Doughty and Ryan shouldn't even bother showing up at the award show

but if they don't i'd say it's a toss up between Mason and Doughty

Mason was getting lucky, now his SV% is coming back to earth. Bobby Ryan should win.

Versteeg should be on the list over Doughty.

As much as I'd like to say Ryan, I think Mason will win this. Ryan second.

Unless things change drastically or he starts playing a lot worse its Mason's for the taking.

Conditional - depends how mono affects Mason's play. He starts struggling, Calder will go to Doughty.

So Patrik Berglund leads rookies in goals and he doesn't stand out for you?

Not to me.

He's a great player, but he hasn't had the season Ryan, Mason, or Doughty have had.

Sorry for the double post, but it seems like Mason has cooled off after the all star break a little bit. Its really a crapshoot right now, but I don't think Doughty's gonna get it.
