To answer your question - No. He does not make my top three. He plays a lot, has gotten a few assists because of it. That's about all I can say for him.

Because pointt totals and +/- are the end all-be all for a defenseman's ability

That's pretty messed up logic that puts Versteeg ahead of Ryan and Doughty.

and if mason doesnt get it, ryan will.... doughty hasnt even won rookie of the month yet... the rookie of the year wont be the guy who wasnt for even for a single month the best rookie

Mason and it shouldn't be even close... he could even go for the Vezina.

Versteeg leads all rookies in assists and pts!

Him and Ryan are the best forwards.

Doughty is a good young dman but i dont consider him close to Mason, Versteeg or Ryan

Only because he's played more games.

I partially agree, just trying to quantify things.

Make a case for Doughty, I'll listen.

Because that's completely fair to compare numbers between 2 forwards and a defenseman.

Doughty leads all players in ice time per game. Yes, I said he lead all players at one point in the last week, maybe still, but I dont know.

If Colombus makes playoffs, Mason wins Calder and Vezina or Hart in my opinion
Mason has more Ice time per game than Doughty. Also it's Columbus.

I don't think you are right at all about Doughty ever leading in Ice time per game. I really want to know were that came from, cause a couple Kings fans have said that as well. But as of right now he is 34th in the NHL and over 3 mins per game less then the top 3. That big of a shift can't happen in a few games this late in the season.

That's hysterical and seriously if the Doughty fans are going to use time on ice as their predominant evidence then I guess Mason takes it.

Only reason Doughty does not get it is because he is a D-Man

Or because Mason has been better, and arguably Ryan too, since coming up at least.

I'm not fond of the point argument, but the primary argument Kings fans seem to be making is ice time. Being a defenseman works against him, but even if that wasn't the case, I don't think Doughty has been such a standout player that he would be the favorite. Mason and Ryan would probably still get the edge, but what might hurt Ryan are the fewer games played.
