CKAC rumor: Gainey interested in Brad Richards & Matt Niskanen

Started by Michel Villeneuve. Take it for what it's worth.

You have to give more information; what did he say?

- The move is made and yet to be announced?
- The move is going to be announced in the next few days?
- The deal is being discussed?
- It's a proposal?

I mean, there are a ton of ways to interpret your post. Give us more details...

What Villeneuve said was that Gainey was talking with Jackson concerning both players. He didn't say that as a done deal.

Calm down people, he didn't say it was imminent or anything.

Just a rumor that Gainey may have interest really. He said he would ''check'' on it.

That's the first thing that came into my mind. They would both be great to have, but I can't see what we could give in order to get BOTH of them in the same trade.

And a lot of you are listening to the CKAC show because there's 4 threads right at the top of the board!!!

Since it's out in the open now, Gainey will move to somebody else.

Why the **** would Dallas do this? They're starting to turn it around and Richards has been great. He has great chemistry with Eriksson, too. Plus, the Stars are looking for a puckmoving D to replace Zubov, and looking for that in Montreal is a no go. This is a bunch of crap.

Again.....it's not enough to get rid of Subban in a package. Clearly Plekanec could be involve, definately O'Byrne.....and maybe Weber/Carle/McDonagh. D'Agostini??? But can we say that in a cap world, we are making a favour to Dallas to get rid of this salary.

The Stars are really thin deep on NHL ready prospects!
They have NO farm team, they just send players to different farm teams.
So I guess there would be quite a few prospects involved!

We've just listed all the D's that could be headed to Hamilton next year in the Hamilton thread.....seems that this deal could help in that department...

Niinima for Ribeiro was worth it.

It made Koivu happy.

Agreed, although Niskanen's having a horrid season according to their board, so he isn't one of their best players this year.
