Canada's Crazy D..

Is there any team in 2010 that's going to be able to even come close to Canada's back end..

i mean this is crazy....

Jay Bouwmeester-Chris Pronger
Dion Phaneuf - Shea Weber
Mike Green- Scott Niedermayer
Brent Burns

Sub in anywhere.....
Brent Seabrook
Duncan Keith
Brian Campbell
Dennis Wideman
Sheldon Souray
Dan Boyle

that's 14 d.... and i prob still missing some.....seems to me the D that doesnt make the team will still be better then the rest...

Dunno about Neidermayer there, isn't he struggling this year?

Niedermayer will probably be too old. Duncan Keith should be there over him.

Keith will get in over Neidermayer IMO. Isn't Suter American though?

Hey it's not just who's playing, it's how they're playing.

The whole team might be in a funk and not even medal, like in Nagano or Torino -- despite an abundance of elite players, d-men or otherwise. Did the Czech Republic have an amazing team at Nagano? Sure, pretty good, but on paper not that impressive. They had cohesion and desire though.

Of course it's in Vancouver so Gold is guaranteed.

Hmmm, I am reasonably sure that h3yn0w was being sarcastic.

Him being 2nd star of the month says otherwise:

If you watch him, he really isn't even close to the player he was before he "retired" after the 2007 season. He had a good month, but the Olympics are a whole year from now, and I don't think he will still be playing.

Pronger Niedermayer
Phaneuf Regehr
Bouwmeester Weber

Green or Burns will be the 7th d-man.

Dan Boyle should be considered.

Then you have Doughty, Staal, Schenn, and Pietrangelo all up and coming.

He should be considered, but I don't think he'll make the team unless there's injuries.

I don't think that Niedermayer will be there, and while there is a good chance Phaneuf and Regehr could both play for Canada they won't be paired together.

Edit: Nevermind, I see you changed it up in the next post

I highly doubt that Canada will have space for those players... Maybe Schenn, Staal, Doughty and Pietrangelo in 2014 ... if the NHL is involved
